Star Trek TV Spot: Not Your Father’s Trek

According to this new Star Trek spot, J.J. Abrams’ version of Trek should not be mistaken for the one your father used to like when he was a nerd. Of course, if you’ve seen any of the gazillion or so Trek clips that have popped online so far (and posted on this site), you already know that Abrams’ Trek is probably as un-Trek as you can get and still have the name “Star Trek” in the marquee.

Sci-Fi Babe Spotlight: Zoe Saldana

According to actress Zoe Saldana, she’s part Dominican, Lebanese, Indian, Irish, and Jamaican. Or just to make it easier, she says she just tells people she’s from Queens. We don’t really care where she’s from or what her ethnic make-up is, we just care that she’s a damn fine actress, a damn fine looking one at that, and she’s in two of this year’s biggest sci-fi flicks: J.J. Abrams’ Trek reboot and James Cameron’s “Avatar”.

More Star Trek Images

J.J. Abrams’ Trek reboot doesn’t officially open in the States until May 8, but it sure feels like this thing has been opening for the last month or so, going by all the promo stuff that’s beaming online every single day. A ton of clips, a ton of images, and here are some more images from the movie. It still doesn’t look or feel like a Trek movie to me, but then again, I guess that’s the point.

Another Star Trek Clip: Spock Wants Answers, Dammit

I get the feeling this is the part of the movie where Spock (Zachary Quinto) loses his Vulcan cool and tries to choke the crap out of Kirk (Chris Pine) via the trailers. Then again, from what I’ve seen, young Kirk seems to be a bit of a cocky dick, so maybe Spock had no choice but to choke some humble pie into the tool. Anyways, latest clip from Abrams’ totally un-Trek like Trek reboot after the jump.

Will Fringe Reveal A Logical Villain?

nimoyIt has been rumoured by an anonymous source, via Fringe Television, that Mr. Leonard Nimoy will guest as William Bell, former partner of Walter Bishop (played by the simply excellent John Noble) and founder of the sketchy and mysterious Massive Dynamics, a company of dark technology staffed with ne’re-do-wells. This is a very credible rumour as the co-creators of Fringe are Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the golden boys behind “Star Trek”.

Karl Urban Gets Dr. Leonard McCoy

karl1This is the first extended peek of Karl Urban’s take on the character of Dr. McCoy and he seems to have really nailed it.

Video Footage From Sneaky Alamo Star Trek Showing

star-trek-trailerWe return again to Austin, Texas. This time we come with mighty footage of the event itself, where a sneaky screening of “Star Trek” was shown at a supposed Wraith of Khan showing. As I mentioned earlier, Spock himself was there to introduce the movie. Grown men were seen to weep. I myself tear up at the very thought of seeing the logical one in person.

Wraith Of Khan Screening In Austin Just A Cloaking Device For The Real Thing

star-trek-trailerA screening for Star Trek 2: The Wraith Of Khan, in Austin Texas, at the supposedly amazing Alamo Drafthouse, turned out to be a clever ruse to actually present the first public screening of everyone’s favorite pointy earred, brow lifting, full frontal phaser epic “Star Trek”.

Another Trek Trailer Plus Detailed Shots Of The Enterprise Bridge

star-trek-nero-0We have yet another TV spot with new footage from “Star Trek”. In this version, we get a tighter glimpse of the young rebel Kirk and his bar fighting abilities, etc.  Along with this trailer we have some shots from the official Trek movie site of the bridge.

Star Trek: TNG Cast Reunites on Family Guy

If you’ve been waiting to see the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation reunite on TV, you’re in luck, because they just did. Well, in animated form and it was on the hit-and-miss show Family Guy, but hey, a reunion is a reunion, right? The episode is called “Not All Dogs Go to Heaven”, and features Stewie (the show’s evil toddler genius) creating a teleporter ala the show and beaming the cast to his bedroom, then they go out for burgers. No, really.

New Batch of Star Trek 11 Images

With its May 8 release date coming up fast, you’re starting to see and hear a whole lot about J.J. Abrams’ Trek reboot. Some new batch of images from the movie that I haven’t seen before have also landed online, including the very tantalizing view of Rachel Nichols (or is that Diora Baird?) as a green-skinned Orion. Endymi0n has already posted a couple of the new images here, but here are the rest of them.

Orion Slave Girl Picture Makes Me Green With Envy

star-trek-trailerOrion girls may or may not be easy. We’ll have to see for ourselves when the new “Star Trek” movie hits on May 8. Orion girls sure are pretty though. MTV scored this picture and a few others, including a Spock to Spock gathering of the minds. Click within to see the good stuff.

Co-Creator Of LOST Signs On To Write Trek Sequel

New Extended Trek Trailer

star-trek-trailerI will continue under the assumption that, like myself, you are in fully fan frenzy mode for the upcoming Trek feast. We have a trailer here, new to my eyes, that contains some new cool footage, possibly of a damp Scotty and a summersaulting Sulu.

I’ll never get enough of this. Watch and enjoy.
