So I was watching last nights Lost episode, wondering where in the holy hell the plot was going, when POW, I was assaulted by yet another “Star Trek” trailer. I jerkily reached for the remote since I really would like to avoid seeing the entire movie in advance of my epic journey to the temple of IMAX next week.

New Batch of Star Trek Images
At this point, we might end up seeing half of the movie via clips by the time “Star Trek” is finally out in theaters on May 8. Mind you, not that I’m complaining, because I’m actually warming up to the movie. Shockingly, I don’t even mind the whole “not really Star Trek Star Trek” vibe that Abrams has been giving out since he started doing interviews. And certainly Trek fans don’t seem to mind, so why should I? Here are even more images from the movie. I believe some of these are old, or I’ve seen them in various forms over the year, but I’m told these are new, so I’m calling them new and that’s all there is to it.
Zoe Saldana Spills A Few Beans On James Camerons Avatar
It is a very difficult task getting any inside juice on “Avatar”. James Cameron runs a tight ship. There is little or no leakage. Zoe Saldana, who plays Uhura in “Star Trek”, also plays a part in the oncoming “Avatar”. During a recent interview, she tempts Mr. Cameron’s terrible wraith by giving us some tiny spoilers. We will take what we can get.
J. J Abrams On The Dvd and Blu-Ray Versions Of Star Trek
J.J Abrams, director of the little film they are calling “Star Trek”, opening next week at an Imax near you, gives us a little glimpse of what will be coming when “Star Trek” finally makes it to Dvd (ick) and Blu-Ray (w00t). We can expect about 5-10 minutes of deleted scenes, most notably featuring Nero, our favorite Romulan crazoid, in a Klingon prison. Thanks Collider.
Spock And Uhura: Together At Last?
I’ve been following the Trek news in a very close way. I’m as die hard a Trekkie as you can get while still holding on to my dignity. I have been to conventions. No, I did not wear Spock ears although I could have rocked them. I do know some Klingon, but only the stuff you want to say to female Klingons or to any recently vanquished foes, their twisted bodies lying broken and bloody at my feet.
Four More Star Trek Clips
Four new clips from J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek”. You know, the more I see of this movie, the more I’m really excited for it, and I’ve never exactly been all that excited for anything Trek. Four very cool clips, the first one has Bruce Greenwood’s Captain Pike convincing a beat-up Chris Pine (the aftermath of the bar fight over Uhura as seen in previous clips), the second is Kirk and Sulu getting ready for a space jump onto a Romulan vessel (Sulu informs Kirk of his fencing prowess), in the third clip, Romulan Captain Nero makes his appearance and (literally) drives his point home, and the fourth clip features that bar scene between Kirk and a Uhura which leads to the bar fight.
Entertainment Tonights Big Huge Trek Video
Because we have posted just about every other Trek preview and video known to exist of any consequence, I have for you, dear reader, a nice big spoilerific behind the scenes Trek video extravaganza courtesy of Entertainment Tonight. It has two minutes of footage plus interviews. Just be really careful. I imagine if you snip together all the videos released you could probably just about get to see all the good stuff in the movie. Thanks Trekmovie.
More Character Pics from Abrams’ Star Trek
Eight new images from J.J. Abrams’ upcoming “Star Trek” featuring the major characters that we’ve come to know and love, only younger, because the only thing Hollywood loves more than making money and giving themselves awards is de-aging their movies. You get the feeling that Hollywood’s preoccupation with prequels is simply because they hate growing old, and wish they could go back in time and do it all over again. But maybe I’m giving them too much credit. It’s probably just about the cash.
Your Beginner’s Guide To Essential Sci-Fi At The Movies
I can see you out there, hovering over your keyboard, slack jawed, staring with squinty questioning eyes into your bright LCD screen, yearning for something new. Thus far your movie watching existence has been confined to the clinically brain dead genres of the romantic comedy, the buddy movie or films starring Ben Affleck. Something has to give.
Star Trek MMO Gameplay Video
Science fiction is coming to the MMO gamesphere in a big way this year. At odds will be Bioware’s likely great replacement for Star Wars Galaxies, Knights of the Old Republic and the Star Trek MMO. Craig Zinkievich from Cryptic Studios sat down with MSNBC for an interview, detailing how our wagon train in space will work out for us. Included is lots of new video of avatars, starships in battle and ablaze and plenty of spiffy starscapes, some with Borg! Thanks Io9.
Two More Star Trek 11 TV Spots
Two more spots for J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek 11″, because you can never have too much of a young Kirk looking and acting all cocky, and Eric Bana as a heavily tattooed Romulan who looks and sounds like Kirk has been eating his lunch since they were in elementary school, and now is his time to strike back. But when he finds out Kirk isn’t that easy, even as a young dude, the Romulan starts to get that shaky feeling in his boots again. Or at least, that’s what comes across from these new two Trek 11 TV spots.
Pictures And Phasers From Star Trek In Berlin
All the cool kids were in Berlin at the Sony Center at the Potsdamer Platz yesterday to unveil a little indy movie called “Star Trek”, soon to invade your city and covert your impressionable local youth to a meaningless life of the deeply nerdy. We have the cool pics, some in black and white and oh, an Abrams signed, fully retro, old is new, Phaser.
Bryan Fuller Of Pushing Daisies Pushes New Trek Series
Bryan Fuller has been dropping some serious hints that he’d like to be the “Sulu” (helmsman) of the next inevitable Star Trek television series.
Just for the love of god, if someone is going to do this, please realize that the original series was adult, with mature themes. Many of the episodes were borderline suspense or even horror in feel. Rant over.
Diora Baird Out Of Costume
Diora Baird will be featured in a lovely green hue when she appears as an Orion (probably not a slave) in next months Sci-Fi pilgrimage destination “Star Trek” After the jump we have a few pictures from Zoo, a lovely British magazine that obviously appreciates the finer sights in Science Fiction.
