When A Door Opens On The Enterprise, Somewhere A Russian Toilet Flushes Happily

Visual effects people get all the loving. The fast cars, the pretty girls and all the bling for the Hollywood scene just rains down on them. While the visual effects people are lounging by the pool, waiting for the days and days it takes to render their splashy neon pew pew on your latest Sci-Fi epic, the sounds dudes are crammed into Russian trains, clacking along into the frozen yak filled steppes, recording toilets flushing.

Wince Along With Me As MTV Butchers The Star Trek NG Cast On Air

Those with highly evolved empathy, people that can’t bear to watch someone else be embarrassed, may need to avert their eyes from this video from back in the day when the Star Trek NG crew, including Marina Sirtis, Brent Spinner Jonathan Frakes and LeVar Burton were on MTV UK to promote their, admittedly, less then epic “First Contact” movie. The hosts of the segment go on to embarrass not just our beloved cast, but every single one of you out there that ever said fascinating, could life an eyebrow, or could maybe even just read.

Do We Have A Front Runner For The Villain In Trek 2?

Nestor CarbonellApparently, there is a “juicy” rumour that J.J. Abrams and company have one man in mind when they think villain for the so far officially unannounced “Star Trek 2″. Rewinding just a bit here, much of the questions asked to J.J. during the Blu-Ray release party by inquisitive and intrepid reporters is whether or not the character of Khan will be rebooted for the next installment. I think it’s a pretty sure thing.

Behind the Scenes On The Casting Of Zachary Quinto As Spock

Having been raised on the old school Trek and being of the advanced age to have actually watched the show while it was still on it’s network run, getting to know a new Spock was a little difficult.

See Wimpy Masked Klingons In The Star Trek Deleted Scene

Eric-Bana-Star Trek NeroHere’s the scene in “Star Trek” where tragic villain Nero is tortured with a brain bug by a masked Klingon dude with a sensitive side.

Is This Klingon Propaganda Film A Viral For Trek 2?

klingprop-sI’m thinking it’s a bit early in the development process for J.J. Abrams and his conspirators to be this sure of a storyline but you never know. Rebooted Klingons will still kick your sorry ass. Though uncertain of it’s origins, this fiendishly wicked Klingon propaganda film recalls the glorious days of similar Communist efforts.

Julia Benson From Stargate Universe Comments On Her Breasts

Julia Anderson 2Julia Benson, the apparent owner of those distracting boobs from last weeks SGU episode “Darkness” comments on the shots that have us all in a bit of a state.

Star Trek Blooper Reel Is A Hoot

star-trek pine-in-chairHere’s a great way to either start or continue your day doing whatever it is you think you’re doing. It’s a Star Trek (The new one) blooper reel!

And it’s plenty funny. So quit being so serious and get clicking. Life is good. Thanks i09.

Ron Moore Drops Some Trash Talk on Trek In New York Television Festival Keynote

ron-moore-bsg-trilogy22Ron Moore, the man behind the greatly missed Battlestar Galactica, recently oh snapped on Trek tech and how it was basically a crutch for lazy writing. Something I wholeheartedly agree with.

J.J. Abrams Dishes On The Next Trek

jj-abrams director of Star TrekSo obviously the first reboot of the whole Star Trek thing went pretty well. The movie made a ton of money and was sparkly and amused the muggles. I really enjoyed it when I was watching it, but thinking back, the story was a little weak. Like all primates, even the nerd of the species can be entranced by shiny things, especially when you watch it on IMAX.

New Star Trek Guys Talk Old Star Trek, Sequel

The L.A. Times recently caught up with “Star Trek” wunderkinds J.J. Abrams (director) and Roberto Orci (writer) on the Vancouver set of their TV show Fringe, and of course, the topic of “Star Trek 12″ came up. Here’s what the duo had to say about where they plan to take the sequel.

Astronauts get to watch Star Trek in Space

How appropriate is it that the latest Star Trek film is being beamed aboard the International Space Station? Very much so, really.

Paramount sent a copy of the movie to NASA and then it was directly uplinked to the space station for the viewing pleasure of astronaut Michael Barrat and two of his crew mates. Michael Barrat credits his love for space exploration to the original series, citing it as his inspiration,

Did the New Star Trek Crib Star Wars?

Maybe there’s a reason George Lucas sent his Death Star to take out the Enterprise after all. Stumbled across this video over at CollegeHumor.com, which not-so-subtly makes the case that J.J. Abrams’ new “Star Trek” is little more than a carbon copy of George Lucas’ original “Star Wars”, complete with disgruntled farm boy. You know, before he got moronic and introduced us to greedy aliens and Jar Jar Binks?

Video Interview With Star Trek’s Orci And Kurtzman

It must be very nice to be Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman these days. They are the golden boys. The crew from Collider recently sat down with Orci and Kurtzman to discuss their thoughts on a variety of subjects, including their thoughts on a new Star Trek series.

Shatner And J.J.Abrams Hug It Out

My hero William Shatner and the current holder of the coolest director alive J.J. Abrams plus “Star Trek” cast were invited to a horse show that Bill was putting on down California way. There was much merriment. Shatner and Abrams demonstrated excellent Federation style diplomacy. Here’s the video to prove it. Thanks Shatner Project.
