Season One of Star Trek: The Next Generation Lands on Remastered Blu-ray
Nix July 12, 2012“Star Trek: The Next Generation” on TV looks like what it is — a sci-fi show from the ’80s. Mind you, there’s nothing wrong with that. I personally dig that about it. Picard and the TNG Crew Boldly Return in Comic Book Form
Nix June 16, 2012Once upon a time, I used to read a lot of comic books. Then I discovered girls. I dunno, comic books just didn’t seem all that important after that. I still read a comic or two every now and then, but not sure if I’m going to pick up this “Star Trek: The Next Generation: Hive” Issue #1 when it arrives in comic book shops everywhere this September, courtesy of IDW Publishing. The series will boast scripting duties by longtime “Star Trek” writer/showrunner Brannon Braga, who joins forces with fellow writer Terry Matalas and artist Joe Corroney for the series. Here’s a little of what to expect from Picard and company’s trip into comic book form: In a distant future, where the deadly Borg have assimilated the entire Galaxy, Picard, his crew, and some unexpected allies must prove once and for all that resistance is not futile! Packed with mind-bending twists, time-jumping action, and revered, genre-defining characters, STAR TREK: THE… Continue Reading »

This special event will include exclusive looks at the massive restoration of season one, never-before-seen interviews with the original cast members and behind-the-scenes looks at the artists who created the original FX elements and photography during the making of the show. Star Trek: TNG Cast Reunites on Family Guy
Nix March 31, 2009If you’ve been waiting to see the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation reunite on TV, you’re in luck, because they just did. Well, in animated form and it was on the hit-and-miss show Family Guy, but hey, a reunion is a reunion, right? The episode is called “Not All Dogs Go to Heaven”, and features Stewie (the show’s evil toddler genius) creating a teleporter ala the show and beaming the cast to his bedroom, then they go out for burgers. No, really. The rest of the episode dealt with Meg finding religion and then trying to convert Brian the dog, who as it turns out is an Atheist. Along the way, Family Guy manages to make fun of Kirk Cameron, trekkers, and Wesley Crusher. I believe all the members of the cast actually provided their real voices.
