Australian director Shane Abbess’ debut film, the noirish gothic fantasy “Gabriel” must have made quite an impression, because Hollywood has taken notice and now Shane Abbess (pictured, left) is scheduled to direct a new sci-fi thriller called “Source Code” for big boy movie studio Universal. Abbess’ “Gabriel” was made for $200,000, but has already made over $1.2 million so far in its Native Australia, and now Screen Gems has bought the film for U.S. distribution.
