Shiny New Poster for Smallville’s Final Season

Nix January 5, 2011

Some people on the Interwebs are concluding that this latest poster for “Smallville” means Tom Welling’s Superman will eventually put away that snazzy trenchcoat of his and finally slip on the familiar blue and red tights with the big ol “S” on his chest. Me, I think they just put this thing together cause it’s, you know, shiny and whatnot. By the way, “Destiny is Now”? Sounds like a bad Japanese translation. “Smallville” is currently in its 10th and final season. Catch it on the CW before it flies off into that great blue sky called cancellation. click on the pic to enlarge

CW Wants to Replace Smallville with Raven TV Series

Nix December 6, 2010

Hey, remember when the CW tried to make a “Smallville” version of Robin from Batman and Robin fame called “The Graysons”? Yeah, that didn’t go very well, and was dumped because the suits didn’t want it to tarnish what Christopher Nolan was doing over at his “Batman Begins” corner of the DC-verse. So, with “Smallville” in its tenth and final season (Superman doesn’t age, but Tom Welling does), what will the CW do to hold onto their superhero/teen demo brought in by “Smallville”? How about a new TV series based on the half-human, half-demon character Raven of the Teen Titans fame? Variety reports that that’s exactly what the CW and DC are planning as a replacement show once “Smallville” flies off into the sunset in his shiny blue and red suit. The CW is looking to adapt “Raven,” a half-demon also known as Rachel Roth, into a series. Diego Gutierrez, who most recently served as co-exec VP on “V,” is… Continue Reading »

Promo images from the 8th episode of “Smallville’s” 10th and final season, called “Abandoned”, which features the introduction of Granny Goodness (who is decidedly not so good) and her Female Furies into the Clark-verse. Carter Hall aka Hawkman (a guest spot by Michael Shanks) also returns. “Supergirl” airs next week, October 8, 2010. But who can wait? Get a load of Laura Vandervoort in “disguise” with dark hair, then in almost the full Supergirl outfit.

As you can see from the promo pics below, the episode finds Clark Kent (Tom Welling) back at the farm, where he gets a visit from a familiar face; meanwhile, that wacky journalist Lois Lane is up to her fashionable pants in trouble again. New Smallville Promo Reveals THE SUIT

Nix September 17, 2010

Check out a new, nearly 2 minutes long promo for “Smallville’s” 10th and final season, which chronicles the adventures of Clark Kent and his many loves throughout the previous 9 seasons, leading to the upcoming 10th season. Who knew Clark got so much tail? I guess saving the day over and over again has its benefits. And oh yeah, the promo also gives you a brief, 1-second look at the classic Superman suit, which I guess means he’ll finally wear the darn thing by the time the season is up. “Smallville” returns Friday, September 24, 2010. The suit:

POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHOY! The CW has released the official description for “Smallville” season 10 for those of you still watching this aging dinosaur. Will he finally put on the cape? First Look at Supergirl in Smallville Season 10

Nix August 24, 2010

Here’s your first look at the lovely Laura Vandervoort, back on the set of “Smallville’s” upcoming 10th season as Kara aka Supergirl from TV Guide. It looks like Supergirl is in her mild-mannered disguise in this pic with Tom Welling’s Clark Kent. And oh yeah, you’ll see her in the “full costume” (or close to it), too. Says Vandervoort about her short but sweet return to “Smallville”: When I found out this could be my last episode, I thought it would be great to see a quick glimpse of her in the uniform before she takes off. You can get a glimpse of that from the pics below (via Spoiler TV).

Smallville Season 10 Teaser Trailer

Nix July 29, 2010

The CW has released the “Smallville” Season 10 teaser trailer that they showed recently over at Comic Con. It teases the return of Supergirl (Laura Vandervoort, yow) and Superman finally becoming Superman. Plus, more boring Lois Lane junk, cause kids seem to love that, plus the Justice League ala Hawkman and his funky, “Oh come on, it doesn’t look like he can move in that thing AT ALL” costume show up for a laugh or two. The tenth (and mercifully final) season of “Smallville” commences on the CW Friday, September 24, 2010.

Darkseid Coming to Smallville, Chloe’s Exit Details

Nix July 25, 2010

Sunday is usually the “slow” day at the Comic Con, but one of the shows that usually does their thing on Sundays is the CW’s “Smallville” and “Supernatural”. Both shows were on hand today, and from the “Smallville” panel, we learned that the 10th (and final) season will feature the arrival of Darkseid as the season’s main villain. Also, Justin Hartley, who plays the human punching bag on the show aka Green Arrow, will also return for at least 17 episodes. Meanwhile, TVGuide tweeted that “Chloe gives herself up in exchange for Ollie’s freedom”, whatever that means. It will apparently involve the fate of Dr. Fate, if you will. I haven’t really been keeping up with “Smallville”, so maybe that will mean something to you loyal fans out there. But the big news, of course, is the reveal that Darkseid will be visiting Metropolis before the show’s final season is over. Let’s hope the writers handle it much better than… Continue Reading »

Smallville Regulars, Including Supergirl, Expected Back for Smallville Season 10

Nix July 14, 2010

With the end fast approaching, it looks like the producers of the CW’s aging superhero show “Smallville” is bringing back some fan favorites to close out the show in grand style. Among the old castmembers expected back for the show’s 10th (and probably final) season is Laura Vandervoort, who played Supergirl on the show, and can currently be seen sliming it up something hot in the new “V”. Unfortunately Vandervoort’s hot in hot pants superhero will only show up for one measly episode, tentatively scheduled for around October. She’ll be joining John Schneider, Clark Kent’s papa, who will also be returning for a couple of episodes. Let’s just hope Superman finally gets his shit together before Season 10 wraps. Honestly, watching him still running around trying to decide if he should wear a cape or not is getting a tad tedious.

Smallville’s Upcoming Season 10 Will Also be its Last, Supernatural Moves to Fridays — SPOILERS

Nix May 20, 2010

If you’re one of those people wondering how it is that “Smallville” can keep going and going and going and never seem to get anywhere, apparently the CW kinda feels the same way: the network has made it prett much official that “Smallville’s” upcoming 10th season (yes, this show has been on for ten years, go figure) will also be its last. Fans of “Smallville” needn’t be so glum. Ten years is a hell of a run for any show, much less genre shows, which never really seem to get a lot of respect from the networks. “Smallville” will remain in its Friday night time slot, where it has thrived despite Friday generally being known as the Graveyard Shift to many TV viewers. Come this fall, “Smallville” will also find itself with a new dance partner in “Supernatural”, which the CW will be moving to Fridays for its sixth (and possibly final) season. The network will slot their new action-adventure… Continue Reading »
