So what’s the deal on those “Stargate: SG1″ and “Stargate: Atlantis” movies that we were promised a while back, before “Stargate: Universe” became a hit for SyFy? According to producer Brad Wright, it was a combination of many things — MGM’s current money woes, the DVD market not being what it once was, and just pure bad timing.
Like Supergirl? Like actress Laura Vandervoort as Supergirl? Then you should dig these promo images from “Smallville’s” upcoming third episode of its 10th and final season, titled, appropriately enough, “Supergirl”.
This week’s episode is “Shield”, which if you’re a comic book fan, will introduce Cat Grant and super assassin Deadshot to the “Smallville” universe. Carter Hall aka Hawkman (a guest spot by Michael Shanks) also returns.
After a long search, Fox has cast its female lead for its new, big-budget sci-fi time-traveling TV series (try writing that really fast!) “Terra Nova” in British actress Shelley Conn.
Here’s an intriguing concept for a TV show:
The high-concept drama ["Smokers"], based on an original idea by Vaughan, is about a documentary crew following working class heroes who exterminate alien threats in deep space.
The only part I’m not sure about is the whole “documentary crew” angle. That almost always translates into “shaky cam” bullshit. And I hate shaky cam bullshit.

Well, it’s kind of too late now, but if I had known that NBC’s new TV show “The Event” was about aliens, I would have started covering it months ago. Alas, I didn’t know, and just stumbled across the most recent episode last night as it began, and the show’s Barack Obama wannabe was being told that aliens had crash landed in Alaska during World War II.

Check out a new, glossy trailer for “Stargate Universe” Season 2, premiering Tuesday, September 28 at 9/8c on the SyFy Channel.
Yes, there are more interpersonal conflicts, more infighting, more challenging of each other’s authority, more dark corridors, more punching each other, etc. Basically, more of the first season, only, er, more.
Season 10 of the CW’s “Smallville” kicks off later this week on Friday, September 24 with the episode “Lazarus”. As you can see from the promo pics below, the episode finds Clark Kent (Tom Welling) back at the farm, where he gets a visit from a familiar face; meanwhile, that wacky journalist Lois Lane is up to her fashionable pants in trouble again. Oh, Lois, you wacky journalist, you.

Check out a new, nearly 2 minutes long promo for “Smallville’s” 10th and final season, which chronicles the adventures of Clark Kent and his many loves throughout the previous 9 seasons, leading to the upcoming 10th season. Who knew Clark got so much tail? I guess saving the day over and over again has its benefits.
“Stargate: Universe” returns with its second season September 28, 2010. Yup, that’s a Tuesday. The show will be moving from its usual Friday night time slot to hit up Tuesday nights on the SyFy Channel.
Check out two promo videos for the upcoming season in the meantime.
Fox’s Steven Spielberg produced “Terra Nova” TV series has lost a producer in David Fury, but it might just gain a major cast addition in “Avatar’s” Stephen Lang.
