Jamie Bamber Solving Crime and Magic for Ron Moore’s 17th Precinct

Jamie Bamber is re-teaming with his “Battlestar Galactica” boss Ron Moore as the lead in Moore’s new NBC show “17th Precinct”, a police procedural with a sci-fi/fantasy twist.

The project, an ensemble cop drama with a sci-fi spin, is set in a fictional town where magic and supernatural elements rule over science.

First Trailer for FOX’s Terra Nova

Not sure if this first trailer for the Steven Spielberg-produced “Terra Nova” appeared on Super Bowl Sunday or not, because I didn’t see it. Seeing as how FOX broadcasted the Super Bowl, you would think it’s a no-brainer that they would show this to gin up some interest. Don’t know for sure, but FOX has since put the 30-second spot out onto the net, and you can catch it below.

SyFy Cast Young Adama in BSG: Blood and Chrome

The SyFy Channel has officially cast its young lead for its new “Battlestar Galactica” TV spin-off show, “Blood and Chrome”. Luke Pasqualino (below), formerly of the UK version of “Skin”, will play Young Adama, while Ben Cotton will play his superior officer, Coker.

Fringe Survives its First Friday Night Death Slot Test

Ah, Fridays. It hasn’t exactly been kind to genre TV. Especially genre shows from FOX. Hell, the last show that did well in the time slot was the “X-Files”, and that was what, a gazillion years ago?

A Better Quality Trailer for TNT’s Falling Skies

It’s the same trailer you saw previously for the Noah Wylie-fronted TNT series “Falling Skies”, but the quality is most definitely better. The show itself makes its long-awaited premiere June 2011 on the TNT cable network. Be there or get invaded by aliens and probed. You’ve been warned!

Teaser Trailer for the BBC’s New Sci-Fi Show Outcasts

I have to admit, I’ve never even heard of this show being in the works until this teaser trailer showed up online (via Blastr). It stars Jamie Bamber of “Battlestar Galactica” fame, and co-stars Hermione Norris from “Spooks”, Eric Mabius, Amy Manson, Langley Kirkwood and Daniel Mays. No word on a premiere date yet, so check your BBC calenders.

Two More Pics from Terra Nova

Entertainment Weekly has two new pics from Steven Spielberg’s “Terra Nova”. I believe one of the pic features star Jason O’Mara and your first look at Stephen Lang, who plays the show’s villain, though he certainly looks friendly enough with O’Mara’s character in the pic.

V Season 2 News and 5 Clips From Tonight’s Episode

The folks at TVLine got a word in with “V” executive producer Steve Pearlman, and came away with a couple of goodies. For fans of the show, yes, the series will explore the international aspect of the Fifth Column movement against the Visitors.

Says Pearlman:

First Images From Steven Spielberg’s Terra Nova

Here is your first look at the uber expensive Steven Spielberg TV show “Terra Nova”. Not digging the “futuristic” soldiers, and where are the dinosaurs?

Torchwood Adds Two More Babes to its CIA Cast

Apparently the BBC’s more American-minded upcoming “Torchwood” season (officially its fourth, though you can call it a “rebooted” season) will feature a LOT of people in the CIA. Besides Mekhi Phifer, who was recently added as lead CIA guy Rex, the show has now added two more to its roster of CIA agents: Alexa Havins (left) and former “Dollhouse” star Dichen Lachman.

Shiny New Poster for Smallville’s Final Season

Some people on the Interwebs are concluding that this latest poster for “Smallville” means Tom Welling’s Superman will eventually put away that snazzy trenchcoat of his and finally slip on the familiar blue and red tights with the big ol “S” on his chest. Me, I think they just put this thing together cause it’s, you know, shiny and whatnot.
