Stargate Universe Recap 1.10: Justice

by endymi0n - on Dec 7th 2009

Your weekly dose of Stargate Universe recap is a little late this week. There was some unpleasantness on Friday night involving Christmas intoxicants. I won’t elaborate. Late Friday night has ceased to exist in my buffer. But, thanks to the miracle that is the internet, I have just finished viewing the best episode of SGU thus far, an episode called “Justice”.

The British Version Of Heroes Gets It Right

by endymi0n - on Dec 4th 2009

For those of us that once loved Heroes and now feel betrayed and often sickened by the disaster it’s become, the Brits have come around once again to demonstrate how exactly a show about ordinary people with super powers should be done.

Slingers Is Rat Pack And Oceans 11 Awesome

by endymi0n - on Dec 4th 2009

Holy crap. When I watched this test and funding bait loop for the soon may be piloted Brit Sci-Fi “Slingers”, my immediate thought was, (after I stopped hyper blinking) This thing is too good to succeed.

Alice Goes Sci-Fi In A New Wonderland

by endymi0n - on Dec 4th 2009

Alice seems to be a hot girl these days. We’re awaiting Tim Burton’s “Alice In Wonderland”, which from early looks appears dependably Tim trippy. Johnny Depp plays the Mad Hatter in this film version so I won’t be missing it.

The Season Six Preview Of LOST

by endymi0n - on Dec 1st 2009

lost-complete-6-seasonFrom the Cuatro television network comes this eyebrow raising promo for the 6th and final season of LOST. What does it all mean? If the characters wandering around on the Island are chess pieces then who is knight and who is pawn? Of course more importantly, who is the King and Queen?

Stargate Universe Ratings: Steadying, or Falling?

by Nix - on Nov 30th 2009

I’m not a TV numbers wonk, mostly because numbers give me headaches, which probably explains why I suck at math. But thankfully we have sites like tvbythenumbers.com to do all the numbers following and crunching for us. The site has a comprehensive ratings break-down for the first nine episodes of “Stargate: Universe”, and depending by your point of view, the show is either falling or steadying itself.

First Look at the Justice Society on Smallville

by Nix - on Nov 30th 2009

Ha, look, Green Arrow is getting his ass kicked again. Remember when Green Arrow was actually a cool character on “Smallville”? Now everytime I see him on the show, he’s getting his ass kicked. I mean, by everyone. Some chick. Some dudes. Some gangbangers. It looks like Green Arrow’s status as “Smallville’s” resident punching bag will continue in the “Smallville” two-hour Justice Society-themed movie “Absolute Justice”. Check out two images from the upcoming February 5 episode below via EW. The “event” episode will guest-star “Stargate” fave Michael Shanks as Hawkman (seen below putting the smack down on Green Arrow), Brent Stait as Doctor Fate, and Britt Irvin as Stargirl. The Doctor’s costume looks completely impractical, though the abs on Stargirl is kinda hot.

SyFy Channel Picks up Stephen King’s The Colorado Kid aka Haven TV Show

by Nix - on Nov 30th 2009

As bad as movies based on Stephen King stories tend to be (with some rare exceptions, of course), TV products based off his books tend to be that much better. I can rattle off some examples: the long-running “The Dead Zone” TV show, “The Stand” mini-series, and heck, even the “It” mini-series scared the beJesus out of me when I was a wee bit lad. (Looking back on it, the mini-series was kind of tame, but you know, back then it was some pretty scary stuff.) The latest King offering to get the TV show treatment is “Haven”, based off his “The Colorado Kid” short story.

FlashForward Takes a Break, Shuts Down Production

by Nix - on Nov 23rd 2009

Are you still watching ABC’s “FlashForward”? I have the show DVR’ed, but haven’t had time to watch the last three episodes. Okay, it’s not that I don’t have the time, it’s that I, well, don’t want to. Which is a shame, because after the first couple of episodes, this was quickly becoming my favorite new show. Then it, er, wasn’t. I don’t know what happen, to tell you the truth, but maybe it was that trip to Washington that just opened the door up to a whole slew of new, completely unlikeable characters that made me give up on the whole thing. In any case, news is that the show will now temporarily shut down production for six days so that the writers can “tinker” with it.

Here’s A Sneak Peek At The Next Episode Of Stargate Universe Called Justice

by endymi0n - on Nov 23rd 2009

No one is pickier about their programming than Sci-Fi fans. We’re like piranhas on guppies when there is blood in the water. I for one, remain optimistic that SGU has some legs. People putting this show together and acting in it give a shit. I think it’s killing them that the show hasn’t had the reception they expected.
