BURBANK, Calif. (July 12, 2010) – Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) and TV Guide Magazine have cooked up something special for fans at this year’s Comic-Con: a special edition of the magazine devoted solely to programming from the Studio, with four collectible covers featuring the hit television series “The Big Bang Theory,” “Fringe,” “Smallville” and “The Vampire Diaries.”
The SyFy Channel’s new show “Haven” is essentially “The X-Files” if that show was set in one location and Fox Mulder was a spunky blonde, and instead of a doubting Dana Scully you have a doubting Detective who can’t feel pain.
BBC America has released an extended trailer for the second season of their “Three’s Company with Monsters” show “Being Human”. The second season kicks off its premiere episode on Saturday, July 24th, immediately following the “Doctor Who” season finale, so tune in or, you know, get eaten.
SyFy Channel’s “Sanctuary” is an enjoyable show best described as “Hellboy” meets “Fringe” or “The X-Files” or even SyFy’s own “Warehouse 13.”
In their neverending quest to conquer the TV world of spunky secret agents chasing weird and paranormal things, the SyFy Channel is set to unleash their new show “Haven” this coming Friday. Check out a new batch of images from TNT’s upcoming alien invasion TV show “Falling Skies” (formerly “Fallen Skies”, according to a new press release announcing the show’s Comic Con appearance). For a show with Noah Wyle in the lead and Steven Spielberg producing, it’s surprising that “Skies” hasn’t really gotten all that much press. That might change when the show makes its Comic Con debut, though.

As if being forced to sit through a single episode’s worth of storyline stretched out unmercifully into three draaaaaaaaaagging episodes, as well as a season ending cliffhanger wasn’t “tough”, “dark”, and “depressing” enough, the “Stargate: Universe” producers are promising even harder times for our stranded heroes in the show’s upcoming Season 2.
Whoa, is it premiere time for the SyFy Channel again? Yup. While all the other networks are running first-time Summer shows, many of which have no chance whatsoever of coming back for a second season, the cable networks are rolling out their original programmings for return engagements.
We last left The Doctor in a pretty dark place. Rory had just died a senseless death near one of the cracks in the universe, and the cascading time energy erased him from existence. Even worse when The Doctor retrieved a piece of debris from inside the rift–only to discover an exploded piece of his TARDIS. So after those shocking events, it’s nice to have the show settle down and offer us some human drama before leaping back into cataclysmic events.
“Shada” has always had a dear place in the hearts of “Doctor Who” fans, especially the old timers who still think eight foot long scarves are still haute couture fashion. The episode in question was written by Douglas Adams himself, years before he gained fame by writing his infamous guide on how to see the galaxy and sold a zillion copies in the process .
The latest hit series from the creators of “Stargate SG-1” makes a date with destiny when “SGU 1.5” debuts on Blu-ray Disc and DVD July 27 from MGM Home Entertainment.
I’ve been watching the SyFy Channel’s “Ghost Hunters” TV show on and off for the last six years or so, and honestly, I can’t tell you with any certainty if they’ve ever caught evidence of an actual, honest-to-goodness ghost. A lot of stuff seems to happen in almost every episode, but eh, I’ve always considered it more entertainment than actual “reality”.
Well it’s the end. The first season of StarGate Universe is over. Drama just isn’t interesting unless the people you’re watching experience change. Space is stressful. Did the castaways evolve as human beings over the season? Did the year of dark corridors, invading aliens, bad food and grouchy Scotsmen culminate in a wicked finale or did it all just fizzle?
Well, they’re committed, you gotta give them that.
