But word is, he’s not entirely against cute American girls with a predilection for pale guys with sharp teeth. Check out this Jimmy Fallon impersonation of “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson as he rails against Apple’s iPad. While sitting in a tree. Funny, funny stuff, and let me assure you, that’s not something I usually associate with Jimmy Fallon. Take that, iPad! You and your oversized iPhone and … whatnot.

Mythbusters man of DIY and garage hacker genius Adam Savage has a problem. It’s the same problem I have so I feel his pain. He’s really into “Blade Runner” and especially, really into Harrison Ford’s Blade Runner gun, the finest weapon outside of the light saber in movie history. The difference between Adam and I is he’s got talent and I’m a basement-less and garage-free lame condo dweller with almost no tools. It’s a sad story. Adam has painstakingly recreated the Blade Runner gun, made from a Steyr-Mannlicher .222 target rifle receiver and magazine and a Charter Arms Bulldog .44. I’ve imagined this beauty in my hand so many times you should be worrying about my mental health. io9 has the saga of the building of the gun and it’s history. It’s a must read. Here’s a snip: I made my first Blade Runner pistol when I was 18, while living in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. I stared at the VHS [...]

James Cameron’s “Avatar” is easily the most heavily anticipated sci-fi movie in God knows how many years (or decades). And if you really dug the trailer for the movie, you’ll probably want this “Avatar” AMP suit maquette. It’s a scaled down version of the AMP suit built for the movie that is featured prominently in the trailer. It’ll be available by the second quarter of 2010 according to Sideshow Collectibles, and will cost you a whopping $1199.99. Basically, $1200. Specs for the maquette: Product Size: 30″ H (762mm) x 24″ W (609.6mm) x 24″ D (609.6mm) Product Weight: 12.00 lbs (5.44 kg) Box Size: 34.00″ H (863.6mm) x 28.00″ W (711.2mm) x 28.00″ L (711.2mm)
