Let’s get one thing straight: no one really expected Roland Emmerich’s “2012″ to be an example of quality filmmaking, did they? I mean, come on, we’re talking about the guy behind “ID4″, “The Day After Tomorrow”, and “Godzilla” here. Dubious science, even by the low standards of movie technobabble, and outrageous stunts featuring people running away from massive fireballs are Roland Emmerich’s stock in trade. Why, without them, we wouldn’t have crazily entertaining movies like “ID4″ and “10,000 BC”! So someone has read the script for Emmerich’s “2012″, and it’s crap. Well duh. Isn’t all of Emmerich’s scripts kinda crappy? It’s what he does with it on the big screen that matters. I.e. explosions. Lots and lots of explosions.

It’s been less than two weeks since I reported on an upcoming new sci-fi movie about aliens invading L.A., and U.S. soldiers having to fight them on the streets, then someone has located the script and has reviewed it. In a word, it sucks. Really, really sucks, apparently. Now I don’t know if I was really expecting a whole lot, but the review is incredibly negative. But on the plus side, the reviewer does give us more information on what the movie is about, and some of the main characters that we’ll be following in this, what I like to call, “Blackhawk War of the Worlds”.

New episodes of ABC’s Lost doesn’t return until April 24th, but the show’s executive producers, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, recently spilled some details about some upcoming Season 4 episodes. Included are: the smoke monster returns; more about that weird four-toed statue, and what exactly happened to Claire, played by Emilie de Ravin? Also, Jack and Locke finally throws down in the season finale.

Wow, isn’t this ironic? Chris Carter and the “X-Files 2″ guys have been working overtime trying to fool and mislead movie sites about the plot of their movie, going so far as to hide the title until two days ago, and what happens? The entire plot of the movie is revealed via the back cover of the upcoming “X-Files 2″ book novelization! See, Chris? This is what you get when you try to be too clever by a half, my son. To be honest with you, I don’t know why they’re keeping the plot under such wraps. What, Ma and Pa Joblo is supposed to walk into the theater without knowing anything about the plot? That’s asking for a box office disappointment right there.

Uh oh. It looks like someone from Aint-it-cool-News, or someone who regularly writes for them, has gotten their hands on the script for the upcoming “The Day the Earth Stood Still” remake. As you’ll recall, Keanu Reeves let the cat out of the bag a few weeks back when he told MTV that the new version will involve Global Warming instead of nuclear annihilation, which as you might expect, made me think this movie was gonna suck because of that pandering crap. Now according to the script review — yup, it’s gonna suck because it just, well, plain sucks, apparently.

I am definitely marking this one with a big ol SPOILER tag, because it is very spoilerish — as in, it tells you pretty much everything that happens in the pilot episode of J.J. Abrams’ upcoming sci-fi TV show Fringe. Yes, I do mean everything, so if you don’t want to know how the pilot episode begins and ends, I suggest you don’t read on. You still reading? Okay, continue, then…

It took a while, but finally, promo images from the upcoming Knight Rider TV series have finally hit the net. These images showed up on io9, and shows the new lead, Justin Bruening as Mike Tracer attending some kind of funeral. Geez, I hope it’s not going to be a downer series. We got transforming cars here, folks!

It was recently revealed by writer/director Chris Carter that the upcoming “X-Files” movie sequel will be a standalone story, and will not delve into the alien mythology that has been so much a part of the show’s run. So what could the central storyline be in “X-Files 2″ if it’s not aliens? Um, maybe the wolfman?

Entertainment Weekly has got this massive spread on their site showing characters from the Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica sitting around a table in a very Christ’s Last Summer style sitting. What are they trying to say? Is someone going to betray someone? And who is Christ? Is there a Christ? What the hell is going on in Ron Moore’s head? Who knows, but you can head over there to check out the clues, or take a look at all spread below for yourself.

I swear, I didn’t start the site to focus entirely on Star Trek 11, and to tell you the truth, the Trek series isn’t even my favorite of the sci-fi universe, but it just so happens that lately we’ve been hearing a lot about Trek 11, including these tidbits about the upcoming film from one of the movie’s writer, Roberto Orci, who says that the character Spock is integral to the story.
