No idea if this is true or not, but a while ago there were stories that James Cameron spent quite the bit of time trying to create the perfect pair of CG breasts for his movie “Avatar”. But if you already saw “Avatar”, you know that the Na’vi aliens spend the entire film walking around in, well, not a whole lot. And because they’re so in tune with nature and the planet, you’d imagine that they would have, you know, pretty awesome sex. Well that didn’t show up in the movie (it is rated PG-13, after all), but perhaps Cameron will treat us to some Na’vi action on the DVD? “Avatar” star Zoe Saldana thinks so.

Avatar’s Na’vi Sex Scene May Show up on DVD
Sam Worthington Will Not Be Flash Gordon
Sam Worthington will not be running around Space, ray gunning it for Ming The Merciless in a possible, hopefully completely rebooted “Flash Gordon”. This is from Sam himself so that’s a pretty good source. He was chatting with Aintitcool and set the record straight.
happy new year mate
Denzel Washington Interviewed On The Book Of Eli
The Book is just about upon us and we have a big and juicy interview with Denzel Washington for you. In it, Mr. Eastwood, er, Mr. Washington gives us some interesting bits from the movie including insights into his training, old people sporting Ak-47′s and this interesting tidbit:
Sam Worthington is Flash Gordon. Okay, Probably Not.
Sam Worthington in talks for the “Flash Gordon” movie? Okay, probably not, but one of the gazillion gossip sites out there says they heard things, and since that’s apparently good enough for them, it’s good enough for us. Just remember that if it turns out to be complete and utter bullshit, it’s not our fault. But if it does end up being true, keep in mind that we were on top of it! In any case, according to Hollyscoop, here’s the word on the street — and of course by “street” I mean the coffee shops of L.A.:
Mark Strong Dishes Deep On John Carter Of Mars
Mark Strong is an actor I really like. He’s been great in everything I’ve seen him in lately (Sherlock Holmes, RockNRolla) and he’s now about to play Matai Shang in “John Carter Of Mars” written and directed by Andrew Stanton, the incredibly talented writer of “Wall-E”, “Finding Nemo”, “Monster’s Inc”, etc.
Big Apple Quicktime Version Of Inception Trailer
This morning some dumb ass in an 18 wheeler rounded a curve near my house a wee bit too fast, overturned and obliterated an apparently important telephone pole, somehow crucial for many blocks of electricity delivery. So my power has been out and I’ve had the sweats. I live in Canada and yes, it’s cold. Power out in the city is a thought provoking thing.
Kai Blackwood’s Grey Skies Trailer Attacks
The guys over at QuietEarth have located the first trailer for Kai Blackwood’s sci-fi/horror movie “Grey Skies”. It’s your usual story: college buds go to an isolated cabin for the holiday and some drinking, pot smoking, and sex, only to end up confronted with a menace … from outer space!!!! It’s sort of like “The Thing”, minus Kurt Russell. And, er, snow. Check out a trailer for it below. Looks creepy, and could potentially be a pretty nice indie production to add to your collection of bad doing aliens.
How Denzel Washington Got Even Badder For The Book Of Eli
So after the fine, fine, pre-Xmas entertainment that was “Avatar”, we now turn our Sci-Fi attentions to the next big Sci-Fi flick coming our way in the form of the grim, dusty, post enlightened civilization road movie, “The Book Of Eli”, starring our man Denzel Washington as a high plains drifter firm and fully packed with the skills and hardware required to lay down the law on all those radiated, diseased or just plain mal-adjusted enough to want to take what Denzel has sworn to protect.
First Pics From the Alien Invasion Movie Battle: Los Angeles
Wow, how long have I been waiting for something — anything — from this movie? Well here it is, the first pics from the set, including our very first look at Aaron Eckhart as a battle-hardened trooper leading his squad against some nasty alien invaders on the streets of Los Angeles, which is currently shooting in, er, Louisiana. Hey, it’s Hollywood. Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the film co-stars Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Lucas Till, Taylor Handley, and Michael Peña. The “Battle” rages February 2011. Via I09.
Jude Law in a Bloody, Action-Packed Repo Men Trailer
So there’s this sci-fi movie called “Repo Men”, starring Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, and Liev Schreiber. From what I can tell, it looks like a pretty expensive, slick, big-budget sci-fi action movie, too. And, um, I didn’t know it existed until now. Go figure. Check out a red band trailer for “Repo Men”, which looks a lot like “Logan’s Run” with human organs. The film has Jude Law playing, from what I can tell, his first ever leading man role in what is a full blown action movie. No real method acting here, just pure sci-fi action and spraying blood. Lots of that in the future when you’re dealing with guys who repossesses human organs — by literally cutting them out of their “wearers”.
An International Trailer For Inception
It’s in French but that’s ok, turn the sound down because it is really, really good. There’s so much stuff in there it’s hard to pick a highlight but I’d go with the city curling up like paper deal or maybe the freight train going down the middle of the city street. How does that grab you Joey?
Has Peter Jackson Begun Work On Mortal Engines?
Workaholic Peter Jackson is apparently ratcheting away on his latest project down there in New Zealand with Wingnut called “Mortal Engines”, a really cool post apocalyptic sci-fi fantasy about cities that roll around on giant treads and eat everything in their paths for fuel and resources. “Mortal Engines” is based on the works of author Phillip Reeve and his so far five books targeted towards a youth audience.
The Second Teaser Poster For Christopher Nolan’s Inception
More teasing. As if grade school, junior high, high school, college and work weren’t enough, Christopher Nolan is now teasing me again with this new poster for his latest and let’s just posit, probably highly nifty summer Sci-Fi extravaganza “Inception”, starring Leo DiCaprio and homegirl Ellen Page. This poster is apparently the end run of the mazes found at YourMindistheSceneoftheCrime, the “Inception” site. Pretty clever. I’m going to check it out. “Inception” hits theatres July16th in normal theatres and the IMAX. Thanks Comingsoon.
Avatar (2009) Movie Review
Right away I’m going to tell you that my biggest challenge in writing this review of “Avatar” is to keep my gushing to a minimum. A task that is going to be almost impossible. “Avatar” blew doors off that I didn’t even know I had on the car.
Morpheus Joins Predators
The fine folks over at Collider has news that Laurence Fishburne, Morpheus himself, has joined the cast of Nimrod Antal’s “Predators”. The only thing known about the role is that he will be playing a character named Noland, and that’s pretty much it. Fishburne joins a cast that already includes Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Alice Braga, Derek Mears, Walton Goggins, Oleg Taktarov, and Louis Ozawa Changchien. The sequel has elite human warriors on the Predator planet, being hunted by super Predators.
