Tron Legacy Director Joseph Kosinski Sheds Some Light On The Black Hole

Joseph Kosinski is pretty busy finishing up what I’m certain will be the awesome “Tron: Legacy” starring Jeff Bridges and Olivia Wilde. Joseph’s next project will be the “reimaging” of Disney’s “Black Hole” which was Disney’s kind of answer to “Star Wars”. The original was pretty nifty, even though Disney tried a little too hard to make some of the robots cute.

Terminator Movie Rights Sold: More Killer Robots To Follow?

In a late night bidding war brouhaha, the film rights to the “Terminator” franchise was sold to Pacificor for 29.5 million, out bidding both Sony and Lionsgate. The previous owner, Halcyon Holding Corp will get 5 million for every new “Terminator” film and they will get to continue to milk the revenues from Terminator 3 and 4. Terminator 4 (Salvation) made over 350 million worldwide.

Did David Goyer Bolt Flash Forward To Write The New Batman Script?

As you all know, David Goyer (Show Runner) has left Flash Forward to work on other projects. What other projects might be more important than running a pretty big budget weekly Sci-Fi LOST replacement?

The Thing Sequel Finds its Victims — er I Mean Stars

By now you already know more about the upcoming “The Thing” sequel (or prequel, actually) then you may have wanted to know, but you may be wondering about who will be fronting the film. Kurt Russell is certainly nowhere to be found, but in his stead you’ll get Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton as the film’s two young leads.

Leo DiCaprio Talks About Christopher Nolan’s Inception

“Inception” is number one on my list of must see flicks this year. I plan to torture my significant other even more than usual for this one, both before and after. We’ll get there extra early, for the perfect eye level, mid screen emplacement and after the film, if it’s anything like Leonardo DiCaprio’s prediction of highly intellectually challenging and firm and fully packed with kick ass, there will be my irritating questions and discussions after.

The BBC’s Day of the Triffids Mini-Series DVD Details

Missed the BBC mini-series remake of “The Day of the Triffids”? Don’t worry, you can still catch it on DVD, which the Associates has released on a two disc Ultimate Edition DVD earlier this month on February 1st, and they’ve scheduled a single disc Blu-ray edition on February 22. The film, “an effects-laden CGI extravaganza about a world threatened by carnivorous, man-eating plants – boasts a star-studded cast that includes Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives), Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck), Eddie Izzard (Valkyrie; Ocean’s Thirteen), Brian Cox (The Bourne Supremacy), Vanessa Redgrave (Atonement; Evening), Jason Priestley (My Name Is Earl; Medium), Shane Taylor (Band Of Brothers) and Ewen Bremner(Hallam Foe).”

Legion (2010) Movie Review

Anyone who sat through “Legion” would do well to petition Christian leaders to add a 13th Commandment, one that would prevent filmmakers from dragging God into their ridiculous and boring movies. Which is, to put it kindly, exactly what this sluggishly inept project is. “Legion” has a phenomenally talent cast that works overtime, but they can’t stem the tide of incompetency that constantly washes over the film.

Teaser Trailer For The People Vs George Lucas

When I think of George, many things pop into my head. I am deeply conflicted in ways only a Nerd can be. Without George there would be no Star Wars at all. Does the creator of something also have the right to destroy it? Does art always belong to the artist or does it enter the public domain? George believes “Star Wars” is his I think and in his mind it is if it has never been seen. He seems totally immune to criticism, even obvious and virtually unanimous criticism. Or at least so it seems.

Kate Beckinsale In Space And In 3D?

This rumour has some interesting Pleather (fake leather) potential . Variety is reporting that Len Wiseman is set to gear up another of his “Underworld” movies, about vampires in skin tight outfits maybe battling frothing were beasts. Variety is quoting that the new film will be “spatialized”. Is this a term referring to the 3rd dimension? Or is the “Underworld” saga going into the great beyond? Vampires in Space? I love it. Kate Beckinsale has been linked with a new “Underworld” and with it in space, look for excellent opportunities for her to go with the airtight space Pleather. Thanks to Aintitcool who connected the dots.

Neill Blomkamp Gives A TED Talk On Alien Life And The Human Future

Just in case you’ve been “away”, getting some much needed “rest” and haven’t checked out the must see TEDtalks series of lectures happening now all over the place, let me fill you in on an excellent Sci-Fi TED given by Neill Blomkamp, director and writer of “District 9″ a movie where the aliens arrive and can’t or won’t go home.

First Decent Picture Of Jeff Bridges In TRON: Legacy

“TRON: Legacy” is still quite a ways away and so who can blame the studio types from slow roasting the outward publicity for “TRON: Legacy” starring Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde and Michael Sheen? We’ve got what appears to be a real photograph of Jeff Bridges here playing the older version of his Flynn character (both older and younger appear, thanks to Ben Button style tech). He’s got something on his back that I will speculate is one of those cool circle light weapon things seen in the first movie.

Like Avatar? Like War? They’ll be Lots of Both in Avatar Sequel.

MarketSaw is a great blog to visit if you’re into cutting edge 3D stuff. I’m not a big fan of 3D, but the site is also pretty good for scoops about upcoming interesting films. For instance, they were all over James Cameron’s “Avatar” from the very beginning, and it looks like they’ve gotten a toehold on the sequel as well. On the upcoming “Avatar” sequel, a source has told them that the film will be made “within 4 years”. And the plot?

Trailer For Post Apocalyptic Animated A.D.

I think it’s high time we moved Zombies over to the animated world. I’ve seen more than my share of what live action Zombies can do to fleshy, breathing humans. It’s time C.G.I. people learned to share in the pain of getting a good chomping or the pleasure of taking your Mom’s garden hoe and inserting it edgewise between the hemispheres of your typical garden Zombie.

Olivia Wilde Joins Daniel Craig In Cowboys And Aliens

Crazy beautiful Olivia Wilde, currently seen each week in House and this Dec in a skin tight outfit on a lightbike in the new “TRON: Legacy”, has been added to the cast of “Cowboys And Aliens” alongside Daniel Craig, who recently replaced the exited Robert Downey Jr. In the way back, mid 1800′s to be specific, Aliens arrive in the wild west but find that we humans just need hot lead and gumption to overcome potential alien enslavement.

First Teaser Trailer For Irish Comedy ZONAD

Here’s a little piece or tease for the upcoming comedy Sci-Fi? “ZONAD”. The bit I just saw is funny enough for me to want to share it with you, my Sci-Fi buddies. It’s directed by John Carney and stars David Murray and Simon Delaney (Zonad, himself) Not sure when we’ll get to see it, only that I want to. Thanks Quiet Earth for the tip.
