This is probably a little too wacky to be really sci-fi, but it’s Nazis from space, and who doesn’t like that? I know I do. It looks to be completely campy, though, so I wouldn’t put too much serious thought into its premise or its less-than-subtle attempts at political “satire”. I mean, it’s Nazis from outer space! Anyways, new theatrical trailer and poster for your Nazi lovin’ pleasure below. Towards the end of World War II the Nazi scientists made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity. From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne (Black Sun) on the dark side of the Moon. This base was to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right. Now it’s 2018, and it’s the time for the first American Moon landing since the 70′s. Meanwhile the Nazi invasion, that [...]

In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO. Starring Karl Urban as the new Judge Dredd, Olivia Thirlby as his partner Judge Cassandra, and Lena Headey as the big bad, Madeline ‘Ma-Ma’ Madrigal.
“Riddick” is still happening. Just in case you were curious. To ensure you that it is happening, the franchise’s star Vin Diesel has been posting set images from the movie’s Canada set pretty regularly. About once a week or thereabouts. Here’s the latest pic. Writes Vin Diesel over at his Facebook page, where this new pic from the set of “Riddick” was posted: Being king has it’s perks… yet an alpha Furyan, must return to his primitive state… that animal side. He adds: (low rumble) GRRRRR… P.s. An early pic from the set of the new Riddick film. I bet that “GRRRRR” gets the girls all wobbly. (And, um, some of you boys out there.)

I used to think casting Jennifer Lawrence, who just naturally has this super serious, “I’m 20 but I look and feel like 40″ expression was a bad idea. After all, the character she’s playing is supposed to be a teenager. But the more I see of Lawrence in the role, and think about the character, the more it makes sense. Katniss Everdeen is a kid, but she’s a kid who has grown up in a bad, bad time in the world, and Lawrence’s oft-somber appearance reflects that perfectly. I guess Gary Ross knew what he was doing when he cast her after all. Four new pics from the upcoming Ross movie to take in this fine Monday morning. Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the [...]

Yup, after a lot of start and stop, and start again, it appears David Twohy and Vin Diesel’s “Riddick” is actually, honest to goodness, getting made. Go figure. I know the film has been casting for a while (Katee Sackhoff, Jordi Molla, that Funk kid), but I gotta tell you, I wasn’t still sure it would actually happen. I mean, the film has so much potential to be badass, I just naturally assumed Hollywood would find a way to kill it. Cause, you know, that’s what Hollywood does. But nope, it’s actually happening, and here’s your first look at Vin Diesel from the “Riddick” set, all dressed up in his Necromonger costume and ready to shank someone in the throat. Oh, Riddick, you’re so irrepressible. The plot? Oh, it has Riddick being “betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever [...]

Hard to believe, but yes, “Hunger Games” fans, the first movie based on the Suzanne Collins trilogy of novels will be heading to a theater near you in March. Until then, check out a new image (above) and this news that a writer has officially been hired to pen the second film in the series, “Catching Fire”. Simon Beaufoy, best known for writing (and winning an Oscar for) Danny Boyle’s “Slumdog Millionaire” will be adapting “Catching Fire” for director Gary Ross, who will also continue on the franchise and direct the sequel, though no word if he’ll also do the third and final film, “Mockingjay”.
