Oh you knew it was coming. Here I was, innocently studying the last episode of SGU (Darkness), pen in hand, scribbling notes for further intelligent discussion when Blamo!, out came the Boobs. And not just any boobs. Gone was the tension I was experiencing contemplating the poor lost castaways, marooned and airless, followed by lightness and now on a smack-down course with a big ball of fusion. Instead, it was chest high closeup shots of a really magnificent Sci-Fi rack courtesy of the lovely and talented Canadian beauty Julie Anderson playing Vanessa James. I now have tension of a different sort.
I have dug through the mighty data vault here at SciFiCool to bring you more delightful sights of the beautiful and gifted female cast members of Stargate Universe. Enjoy them below.

Yowsers. Why did they cancel “Battlestar Galactica” again? I’m not sure, but someone’s got some ’splainin’ to do. Until then, here’s Tricia Helfer and Grace Park reminding you why there were some pretty awesomely good times on the Galactica before it all went to shit. The only thing missing, of course, is Katee Sackhoff. What, they couldn’t convince her to do the threesome spread? For shame, for shame.

More over at Maxim.

In the world of notable Star Trek female Vulcans, you’ve got Kirstie Alley from “The Wrath of Kahn” and Kim Cattrall from “The Undiscovered Country”, and then, er, well, that’s about it. Of course, all those past Vulcan ladies took a backseat when Jolene Blalock became, essentially, THE Vulcan female during her stint on Enterprise.
A quick bio via Wikipedia:
Jolene Blalock (born March 5, 1975 in San Diego, California) is an American actress best known for playing the Vulcan T’Pol in Star Trek: Enterprise.
A popular model, Blalock left home at 17 to model in Europe and Asia. She has appeared on the cover of many men’s lifestyle magazines and was twice featured in Maxim’s “Girls of Maxim” gallery. She posed for a clothed fashion layout in Playboy in April 2002. She was later interviewed by the magazine for its “20Q” section in February 2005.
Blalock spent years dieting as a model and was relieved to move into acting, saying: “I’m jaded by [...]

There is no denying the contribution these characters have made to a genre otherwise dominated by men, and this list represents five of my favorite star hoppin’, cyborg bustin’ and alien blastin’ women in all the universe. They are bold, resourceful, intelligent, sexy and tough as nails. I know I wouldn’t mess with them that’s for sure, but enough jabbering on. Let’s get down to business.

5. Dana Scully of X-Files
The constantly skeptical and always serious Agent Scully certainly had her plate full. After being partnered with Fox ‘Spooky’ Mulder her life would never be the same, and she endured more than a lifetime’s fair share of danger while barely flinching through it all. Could you do that? I don’t think so. It’s true that most people didn’t take to Scully until about the second season of the show, mostly because of how cold she was toward Mulder who was admittedly more likable. It didn’t take long however for her to [...]

You know, I don’t know if FOX is going to do to Dollhouse what it did to Joss Whedon’s previous show (though from what I’ve read, the chances are 50-50), but one thing’s for sure: the death of Dollhouse isn’t going to do much to stem the tide of Eliza Dushku’s career. Let’s face it, having a weekly show on network TV, even one as lowly rated as Dollhouse, has allowed Dushku to show off all kinds of sex appeal, not to mention a ton of magazine appearances where she’s wearing, shall we say, just enough to show off her tattoos. This one’s from TV Guide, and yes, it makes you want to see Dollhouse if you haven’t been watching.
Dollhouse returns this week with a new episode.

According to actress Zoe Saldana, she’s part Dominican, Lebanese, Indian, Irish, and Jamaican. Or just to make it easier, she says she just tells people she’s from Queens. We don’t really care where she’s from or what her ethnic make-up is, we just care that she’s a damn fine actress, a damn fine looking one at that, and she’s in two of this year’s biggest sci-fi flicks: J.J. Abrams’ Trek reboot and James Cameron’s “Avatar”.
Esquire recently sat down with Saldana and talked about “stupid questions” and other topics, like the shortening hem of her Trek uniform and why Aussie men are cool. She also talks about Trekkies, crazy fans, and drops the f-bomb about once every other sentence. You gotta respect a woman who looks this good but talks this filthy.
And oh yeah, Esquire was also kind enough to snap these pictures of her. Yum.

Robots are the ultimate Sci-Fi sex objects. While the human female can be as perfect, they come with certain disadvantages, like free will and a healthy suspicion of males. Synthetic females in film and television seem designed for no guilt attraction. Most are engineered to pass entirely as women, while some wear their feminine chrome in plain view. Disguised, a beautiful bot can perform many tasks, including deluding stupid and smitten males for the brief time it will require for them to be probed, sampled, interrogated or terminated.
What other tasks a girl robot may wish or be programmed to perform we can leave up to your imagination. Here are a few of the sexiest robots on film and television.
Angelina Jolie In Cyborg 2

I’m not sure if model turned actress Milla Jovovich ever thought her movie career would be filled with so many sci-fi movies, but sci-fi fans sure are happy that’s how it turned out. Her first big sci-fi role was, of course, Luc Besson’s “The Fifth Element” in 1997. She followed that up with “Ultraviolet” and all three “Resident Evil” movies. Granted, the “Resident Evil” franchise can be considered horror than sci-fi, but let’s face it, those films stopped being scary after part one and has become one big fantasy/sci-fi franchise since. Didn’t they clone the lead character? That sounds like sci-fi to me.
So here’s your Sci-Fi Babe Spotlight on Milla Jovovich, model turned actress turned cinema’s leanest and meanest ass-kicker.

Eliza Patricia Dushku (born December 30, 1980) is an American actress who…came to the attention of casting agents when she was 10.
When you think about it, Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux should have resulted in some good box office. The futuristic actioner had one of the hottest movie stars in the world as its lead, in a movie where she’s required to wear a variety of groovy and sometimes very revealing outfits. She’s also a kickass heroine who just happens to be an elite assassin, and who doesn’t love a kickass heroine in a sci-fi action movie? Geeks love sci-fi movies where the girls can protect and kick their ass at the same time. Plus, the animated movie that “Aeon Flux” was based on was kind of a hit on TV, or at least, had plenty of cult following.
So what went wrong? Beats the hell out of me. It certainly wasn’t Charlize Theron that was wrong with it. Then again, maybe those outfits were a little too groovy for its own good. On the bright side, they did find ways [...]

And let’s face it, Morena Baccarin will always be known to geeks everywhere as Inara on Joss Whedon’s Firefly (made into a movie version called “Serenity”), the uber courtesan with a heart of gold and enough fancy dresses to open her own store. She reprised the role in “Serenity”, and later stuck with the sci-fi niche when she did a baddie turn on Stargate: SG-1. And if the voice of Black Canary on the Justice League cartoon sounds familiar, that’s Morena, too.

Morena Baccarin is a Brazilian actress of Italian origins, best known for her role as Inara Serra in the short-lived sci-fi television series Firefly and the follow-up movie Serenity. Morena was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her mother is Brazilian stage and TV actress Vera Setta.

Then she parlayed that into a major role on the newly minted Battlestar Galactica, which gave her enough street cred to do voice work on games like Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Currently, you can catch Grace on BSG, which enters its final fourth season next month. Here’s our Sci-Fi Babe Spotlight on Grace Park, who, at 5′9″, is probably the tallest Korean woman I’ve ever seen, on film or off.
Grace’s bio from Wikipedia:
Grace Park (born March 14, 1974) is an American-Canadian actress of Korean descent. She is best known as Sharon Valerii (and the various iterations of Number Eight, a humanoid Cylon) on Battlestar Galactica, as well as Shannon Ng in the Canadian television series teen soap Edgemont.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Park and her family moved to Canada when she [...]

I have to admit that when I first saw Katee Sackhoff on Battlestar Galactica, I didn’t exactly fell in love. In fact, I kinda of loathe her character. But slowly but surely (about the third episode), Katee Sackhoff and Starbuck grew on me, until she was the best thing about the show. She translated that likability to The Bionic Woman, where even playing a bad girl, she was still the best thing about that short-lived TV show. Here is our spotlight on Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff, the ass-kickingest chick on sci-fi.
Katee’s bio on Wikipedia:
Kathryn Ann Sackhoff (born April 8, 1980 in Portland, Oregon), better known as Katee Sackhoff, is an American actress best known for playing Captain Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on the Sci Fi Channel television program Battlestar Galactica. In 2004 she was nominated for a Saturn Award in the “Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series” category for her work in the Battlestar Galactica miniseries. In May 2006, she [...]

When you’ve starred in one science fiction show, it’s almost a given that you can waltz into another science fiction show without any background check. Once you’ve been on one show, you can go to another without a problem, because even though something like Firefly was lowly rated and barely seen, you’ve still got sci-fi cache. Which explains why Jewel Staite easily jumped from the cancelled Firefly to the running Stargate: Atlantis, where she’s just nabbed a regular starring role. Jewel Staite is our Sci-Fi Babe Spotlight of the day.
A quick bio of her from Wikipedia:
Jewel Belair Staite (born June 2, 1982 in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada) is a Canadian actress, best known for her role in Firefly and the subsequent film Serenity. She also portrays the character of Dr. Jennifer Keller on Stargate Atlantis.
Staite is perhaps best known for her role as Kaylee Frye in the short-lived science fiction/western television series Firefly and its subsequent 2005 film, Serenity. [...]

Tricia Helfer hasn’t quite become a bona fide sci-fi babe, but what the hey, she’s one of the stars of, probably the most high-profile sci-fi show on TV at the moment, Battlestar Galactica. Tell me that show would work better without Tricia Helfer’s uber sexy Number Six. You know what would have added to Tricia’s sci-fi bonafides? If her show Them, a sci-fi/aliens invasion show, had gotten on the air. But oh well. BSG alone more than qualifies.
A short bio from Wikipedia:
Tricia Helfer (born April 11, 1974), is a Canadian model and actress best known for her major role as Number Six in the Battlestar Galactica re-imagined series.
Helfer was born in the rural community of Donalda in Stettler County, Alberta. She was raised on her family’s grain farm and at the age of 17, while standing in line at a local movie theatre, was discovered by modeling agency scout Kelly Streit.
While working in New York as a model, Helfer hosted [...]

While writing that article about the Henson Company making their Farscape episodes available on iTunes, I was reminded why I loved Farscape so much. Sure, the stories were wacky, the series itself was highly unpredictable and always full of surprises. And oh yeah, one other thing: Claudia Black played a kick-ass heroine chick so well it was hard to imagine anyone else playing Aeryn Sun, badass Peacekeeper turned badass fugitive.
Not surprisingly, once Claudia finished up with Farscape, was quickly landed another sci-fi role — on Stargate SG-1 alongside, coincidentally enough, her Farscape co-star Ben Browder. She can currently be seen in a series of made-for-DVD Stargate movies.
A quick bio of Claudia Black from Wikipedia:
Claudia Lee Black (born in Sydney) is an Australian actress, best known for her portrayals of Aeryn Sun and Vala Mal Doran in the science fiction (”sci-fi”) television series Farscape and Stargate SG-1 respectively.
For her role in Farscape, Black was nominated Best Actress by Saturn Award in [...]

Our sci-fi babe spotlight for the day is Summer Glau, who is quickly becoming the go-to girl for “hot sci-fi chick” characters. She’s played the role in Joss Whedon’s cancelled Firefly (and the movie version “Serenity”) and is now wowing boys everywhere as the hottest looking Terminator since, well, ever in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV show, which you can catch on FOX weekly.
A quick bio from Wikipedia:
Summer Glau (born July 24, 1981 in San Antonio, Texas) is an American dancer and actress, best known for her role as River Tam in the short-lived science fiction series Firefly and follow-up movie Serenity. She now appears on the Fox network TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Glau was classically trained as a ballerina and also studied tango and flamenco. A professional dancer since age 12, Glau relocated to Los Angeles in 2002. She appeared in a few television commercials, but Glau’s first television credit was a guest role as a [...]
