Okay, so they’re not ALL fighting clips. There are a couple of just talking clips. A couple of kissing clips. And a couple of negotiating clips. But yeah, there is one or two that involves actual fighting. Robot fighting!

New Real Steel TV Spot, Clip, and Featurette
Well? You feeling the real steel yet? Me, I’m kind meh on this. Looks like decent family entertainment, but when you’ve got giant robots doing battle, I kinda wish it wasn’t in the ring. You know, maybe on an alien planet or something. It just seems like all that big ass studio budget is going to such waste…
New International Real Steel Poster
Looks a lot better than the “drawn” one, that’s for sure.
For Some Reason I’m Drawn to this Real Steel Poster…
Get it? Ahem.
Want Some Robot Action? Get Some.
With emphasis on the “some” part, cause these two clips from the futuristic robot actioner “Real Steel” is pretty blink and you miss, but still pretty damn cool. Gotta admit, I didn’t have much hope for this movie, but these clips make me rethink that opinion. For one, the robot stuff is pretty well done. Can’t wait to see more.
Anthony Mackie and Evangeline Lilly Cast In Real Steel
Anthony Machie (“Hurt Locker”) and Evangeline Lilly from Lost have just been added to the robot gladiator epic “Real Steel” alongside Hugh Jackman.
Kevin Durand in I am Number Four, Real Steel
Former “Lost” merc Kevin Durand (who was also in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and the upcoming “Robin Hood”) is in negotiations to join two sci-fi movies: playing the alien villain in Dreamworks’ “I am Number Four” and a boxing promoter in “Real Steel”, also from Dreamworks.
Hugh Jackman Confirmed For Real Steel
It has been confirmed that Hugh Jackman has been tapped for the Dreamworks production of “Real Steel”, a film based on the Richard Matheson (The Button) story about an ex-fighter that turns to the sport of robot on robot gladiatorial combat to make ends meet. Since he’s poor and can’t afford decent buzzsaws and giant pincers, he must turn to the scrapheap where he magically finds a droid that has the pluck to win!
More on Shawn Levy’s Real Steel
Director Shawn Levy has revealed more about his upcoming sci-fi movie “Real Steel”, which is being described as “a father/son action drama set in the near future, surrounding the sport of robot boxing.” If that sounds familiar, it may be because the movie will be based on a short story by the prolific sci-fi/fantasy writer Richard Matheson (“I am Legend”, among many, many others), who previously adapted his story into a “Twilight Zone” episode in 1963 called “Steel”. In the interview, Levy says that the movie won’t be an all-out robot action movie ala “Terminator” or “Transformers”. He also confirms that the top candidate to headline the film is Hugh Jackman.
Hugh Jackman In Talks For Real Steel
Mr. Wolverine himself is in “talks” for the film “Real Steel”, with a script based on a short story by Richard Matheson, about the day human hand to hand combat for sport is outlawed and robots are put into use to entertain us gladiator style.
Shawn Levy to Direct Futuristic Battling Robots in Real Steel
Battling robots? You mean like Rock’em Sock’em Robots? Um, not quite. The movie is called “Real Steel”, and at one point “The Kingdom” director Peter Berg was attached. Berg has now moved on, leaving the space open for Shawn Levy.
