Shiny New Poster for Smallville’s Final Season

by Nix - on Jan 5th 2011

Some people on the Interwebs are concluding that this latest poster for “Smallville” means Tom Welling’s Superman will eventually put away that snazzy trenchcoat of his and finally slip on the familiar blue and red tights with the big ol “S” on his chest. Me, I think they just put this thing together cause it’s, you know, shiny and whatnot.

by Nix - on Jan 4th 2011

Anna is pissed! Erica is still calling out for her precious Ty! Jane Badler joins the cast as Mother Lizard! So does Marc Singer as a Freedom Fighter! Can Michael Ironside be far behind?

Red Letter Media’s Latest Epic Star Wars Review: Revenge of the Sith

by Nix - on Jan 3rd 2011

Honestly, watching/listening to Red Letter Media’s reviews of George Lucas’ “Star Wars” prequels are about a gazillion times more entertaining than the movies themselves. Here’s their latest for the last of the prequels, “Revenge of the Sith”, which had me rolling in the aisles like a madman. I honestly don’t know how they cram so much insanely funny bits into every little second of the review. I mean, you can rewind this thing and watch it again and get even MORE gags that they’ve hidden between the lines.

The Apocalypse is Upon Us. Or, er, in Arkansas, at Least.

by Nix - on Jan 3rd 2011

Well, we all knew it was coming. Sooner or later, we knew it would have to happen, and so it has — or at least, that’s what it sounds like over in Arkansas around New Years. What am I talking about? How about a few thousand birds falling from the sky on New Years, then later, a couple of hundred thousand dead fishes washing up ashore.

First Images from Sci-Fi/Fantasy Upside Down

by Nix - on Dec 27th 2010

What is “Upside Down”? I haven’t a clue, but there are some images from it have landed online, and the plot synopsis for the film certainly sounds sci-fi/fantasy-rific. The film currently has a May 2011 release date, but that could very well change in the near future.

First Trailer for TNT’s Falling Skies

by Nix - on Dec 27th 2010

You’ve seen the pictures, now here’s the first trailer for TNT’s new sci-fi series “Falling Skies”, which stars Noah Wylie of “ER” fame as a college professor turned resistance leader who takes to the hills to escape the invading alien horde. The trailer isn’t exactly great stuff in terms of quality video, but hey, seeing as how this show has been hidden away by TNT for what seems like forever, it’s something.

Doctor Who Season 6 Promo Trailer

by Nix - on Dec 27th 2010

Doctor Who is cool. Look, he’s wearing a Stetson now! Ahem. Here’s the first trailer for the new, sixth season (or series as they call it Across the Pond) of “Doctor Who”, which brings the Doctor, Amy Pond, and recurring guest babe (er, star) Alex Kingston over to the States for a little jaunt. My guess is Area 51 figures in there somewhere. You can’t have a sci-fi movie/TV show set in the desert without Area 51 rearing its cliched head.

by Nix - on Dec 23rd 2010

ABC has put up the first 15 minutes from “V’s” upcoming return to TV with its second season online. You can check it out below. Obviously the video isn’t going to say around for very long; they’ll probably pull it as soon as the episode airs next year on January 4, 2011 with the episode “Red Rain”.

Extended Trailer for D.J. Caruso’s I am Number Four

by Nix - on Dec 22nd 2010

New, extended trailer for D.J. Caruso’s “handsome alien teen hiding out amongst us” movie “I am Number Four”. You get an earlier look at the film’s lead, John Smith, before he had to go on the run. Yeah, a circle thingie glowing on your leg will tend to drive away the cute girl, alright.

Concept Artwork for BSG: Blood and Chrome

by Nix - on Dec 21st 2010

And then there was “Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome”. With the SyFy Channel having canceled two of their more critically acclaim shows in the same year (“Caprica” and “Stargate: Universe”), they’ll need a replacement. “Sanctuary”, “Warehouse 13″, “Haven”, and their other barely sci-fi shows certainly aren’t gonna pull in the critics and audiences at the same time. Maybe “Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome” will manage that feat when it premieres next year. Until then, here are some concept artwork from the coming show:
