V 1.09 The Heretic’s Fork Recap

by SciFi Guy - on May 3rd 2010

To give credit where it is due, I have to say that I really like this revamp of “V”. I only vaguely remember the original series but so far I think that the new version is an improvement on the original, and not only because of the vastly improved special effects. The storyline is strong enough to keep the interest of the general viewer, not just sci-fi heads like me, and the characters are well-conceived.

V Recap: 1.03 A Bright New Day

by Nix - on Nov 17th 2009

It’s a brave new world in America, as Anna and the Visitors prepare to establish official diplomatic ties with the Government, thanks in part to a willing media led by the very bias reporting of Chad Decker (Scott Wolf). Meanwhile, the Resistance of Two – aka FBI Agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Father Jack (Joel Gretsch) — continue their quest to find strength in numbers. Step one: find everyone who was at the warehouse that fateful night, including the AWOL Georgie (David Richmond-Peck). For his part, former V sleeper soldier turned human sympathizer Ryan (Morris Chestnut) goes in search of the remaining members of the V Fifth Column, a group of V rebels now scattered to the wind. As we learn toward the end of tonight’s episode, “A Bright New Day”, you just never know when those spunky Fifth Columns will show up next. While last week’s episode was a paranoid, tightly-wound continuation of the pilot, “A Brave New Day” opens up and takes a giant leap in story.

Nine Preview Clips For The Third Episode Of V A Bright New Day

by endymi0n - on Nov 16th 2009

It’s a bright new day on “V” tomorrow night as the Visitor lizards finally get legal and it looks like we have some continuing lizard human fraternization. It can’t end well. Somebody needs to explain away why the Visitors look exactly like humans despite having evolved on a completely different planet trillions of miles away. I know, I know, I’m being picky. Heres nine new clips that will most likely fill you in completely on what will be going on tomorrow night over on ABC.

V’s Second Episode Drops Slightly in the Ratings

by Nix - on Nov 11th 2009

The second episode of ABC’s new “V” show dropped in the ratings — which is both expected and a little bothersome, according to THR. The bothersome part is that the show was down 27% from its record-setting pilot last week, a notable drop as it marks the largest fall from a premiere for a scripted show all season. The good news? Last week’s numbers were record-setting for a reason, so a drop in numbers from week one to week two was entirely expected.

V Recap: 1.02 There is No Normal Anymore

by Nix - on Nov 10th 2009

So what do you do after you’ve killed your partner of seven years and discovered that he was actually a space alien in disguise? For FBI agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell), it means lying through her teeth when her boss and the FBI wonder what’s happened to agent Dale Maddox (Alan Tudyk, who gets two brief cameos in tonight’s episode). There’s good news and bad news for our FBI heroine: the bad news is that Erica, as a good liar as she is, has a very insightful boss (Roark Critchlow) who sees holes in her story, but the good news is that the Visitors know how to cover their tracks. By the time the FBI shows up at the warehouse where the fledging human resistance and Visitor commandos threw down at the end of the pilot, there are no traces of a fight or bodies. Erica is safe … for now. Meanwhile, Father Jack (Joel Gretsch) struggles about what to do in the aftermath of the warehouse debacle, especially when the FBI come calling.

Five Preview Clips from V Episode 1.02 There is No Normal Anymore

by Nix - on Nov 9th 2009

Five preview clips from “V’s” Tuesday episode, 1.02, “There is No Normal Anymore”. My favorite clip: Erica stumbling into Father Jack at the FBI, and her priceless quote, “You’re a friggin’ priest???” Love it. Also, Chad the reporter realizes he just sold his soul to the devil, and more alluring V girl action with Laura Vandervoort and Morena Baccarin. Plus, alien wounds are yucky.

The Cast Of V Speak

by endymi0n - on Nov 4th 2009

new-v-show-2Now that “V” seems to be off to a good start ratings wise I can stop stressing out and settle in to a possibly full season of lizards in disguise. 14 million viewers is a good number, it works. There will be a bit of a drop off probably since 14 million is a hard number to sustain but I’m feeling good. Good actors, really nice special effects and a twisty story with lizard loving humans that will balance out the human loving lizards. I wonder how humanity would really react if big whomping starships appeared over our cities? I guess it would depend on the city. Would the aliens have humans worshiping them? Damn right we would. Hell, we worship Britney, or some of us do (Nix).

V Gets Great Ratings In Debut

by endymi0n - on Nov 4th 2009

new-v-showWell, well. “V”, our next Sci-Fi obsession, did very well in the ratings last night. How about 14 million viewers? How does that grab you? It was the second highest rated debut this season behind NCIS: LA. I’m surprised frankly. Since I really liked the show, I’m surprised and happy. If the ratings hold reasonably well, look for more lizard on human and lizard on lizard action next year after the Olympics. Thanks EW!
