It’s a brave new world in America, as Anna and the Visitors prepare to establish official diplomatic ties with the Government, thanks in part to a willing media led by the very bias reporting of Chad Decker (Scott Wolf). Meanwhile, the Resistance of Two – aka FBI Agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Father Jack (Joel Gretsch) — continue their quest to find strength in numbers. Step one: find everyone who was at the warehouse that fateful night, including the AWOL Georgie (David Richmond-Peck). For his part, former V sleeper soldier turned human sympathizer Ryan (Morris Chestnut) goes in search of the remaining members of the V Fifth Column, a group of V rebels now scattered to the wind. As we learn toward the end of tonight’s episode, “A Bright New Day”, you just never know when those spunky Fifth Columns will show up next. While last week’s episode was a paranoid, tightly-wound continuation of the pilot, “A Brave [...]

It’s a bright new day on “V” tomorrow night as the Visitor lizards finally get legal and it looks like we have some continuing lizard human fraternization. It can’t end well. Somebody needs to explain away why the Visitors look exactly like humans despite having evolved on a completely different planet trillions of miles away. I know, I know, I’m being picky. Heres nine new clips that will most likely fill you in completely on what will be going on tomorrow night over on ABC.

The second episode of ABC’s new “V” show dropped in the ratings — which is both expected and a little bothersome, according to THR. The bothersome part is that the show was down 27% from its record-setting pilot last week, a notable drop as it marks the largest fall from a premiere for a scripted show all season. The good news? Last week’s numbers were record-setting for a reason, so a drop in numbers from week one to week two was entirely expected.
In all, “V’s” second episode, “There is No Normal Anymore” was watched by 10.7 million viewers and drew a 3.8 rating among adults 18-49. According to THR, those are respectable numbers for a new show, and if the show can maintain it, ABC will realize they have a potential hit on their hands. Or at the very least, a stable show capable of building momentum.

So what do you do after you’ve killed your partner of seven years and discovered that he was actually a space alien in disguise? For FBI agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell), it means lying through her teeth when her boss and the FBI wonder what’s happened to agent Dale Maddox (Alan Tudyk, who gets two brief cameos in tonight’s episode). There’s good news and bad news for our FBI heroine: the bad news is that Erica, as a good liar as she is, has a very insightful boss (Roark Critchlow) who sees holes in her story, but the good news is that the Visitors know how to cover their tracks. By the time the FBI shows up at the warehouse where the fledging human resistance and Visitor commandos threw down at the end of the pilot, there are no traces of a fight or bodies. Erica is safe … for now. Meanwhile, Father Jack (Joel Gretsch) struggles about what to [...]

Five preview clips from “V’s” Tuesday episode, 1.02, “There is No Normal Anymore”. My favorite clip: Erica stumbling into Father Jack at the FBI, and her priceless quote, “You’re a friggin’ priest???” Love it. Also, Chad the reporter realizes he just sold his soul to the devil, and more alluring V girl action with Laura Vandervoort and Morena Baccarin. Plus, alien wounds are yucky.

“V” 1.02: “There is no Normal Anymore”
Erica and Father Jack, having quickly determined they’re both against the arrival of the Visitors, suddenly find themselves being tracked by a “Seeker” from the V’s. Meanwhile Chad, thinking he blew it for 80 million viewers with his exclusive first interview with Anna, looks to pick himself up and becomes more investigative in his next newscast.
“V” 1.03: “A Bright New day”
Chad reports on 100 diplomatic visas issued to the first wave of American Visitors, with Anna getting the first. However there are some opposition against this decision. Erica is assigned to protect the V’s from death threats while paired with a V officer.

Now that “V” seems to be off to a good start ratings wise I can stop stressing out and settle in to a possibly full season of lizards in disguise. 14 million viewers is a good number, it works. There will be a bit of a drop off probably since 14 million is a hard number to sustain but I’m feeling good. Good actors, really nice special effects and a twisty story with lizard loving humans that will balance out the human loving lizards. I wonder how humanity would really react if big whomping starships appeared over our cities? I guess it would depend on the city. Would the aliens have humans worshiping them? Damn right we would. Hell, we worship Britney, or some of us do (Nix).
Here’s a nice video where the cast reveal their thoughts on the show and their characters. Thanks Scifiwire.

Well, well. “V”, our next Sci-Fi obsession, did very well in the ratings last night. How about 14 million viewers? How does that grab you? It was the second highest rated debut this season behind NCIS: LA. I’m surprised frankly. Since I really liked the show, I’m surprised and happy. If the ratings hold reasonably well, look for more lizard on human and lizard on lizard action next year after the Olympics. Thanks EW!

Man, what is going on over at ABC’s “V”? First there were all those rumors of delays, network unhappiness with the episodes that have been produced so far (resulting in rewrites and reshoots), and now word is that “Chuck” veteran Scott Rosenbaum has moved over to “V” to replace Scott Peters as the show’s new showrunner.
It’ll be interesting to see the ratings for “V” after last night’s pilot premiere. The show currently has a 4-episode, 4-week order from the network, with ABC doing a wait-and-see strategy with their potentially expensive sci-fi show. Meaning, if the pilot and the subsequent three episodes perform well, the show will be back to finish its first season run. If it doesn’t … well, after all the advertising dollars ABC poured into the show heading into its launch, Anna and her buddies may be getting the shaft faster than expected.
As is always the case with network TV fare, the ratings will tell the tale…

Anna and her Visitor buddies are about to touch down tonight on ABC (in case you missed the gazillion commercials on TV last night), and this is your open discussion thread to talk about the pilot. Did you love it? Hate it? Somewhere in-between?
I saw a version of the pilot a while back in San Diego during Comic Con, and enjoyed it. (Read that review here.) Word is, the pilot showing tonight has some new footage, new scenes, and a spiffier ending thanks to some highly-publicized reshoots. That’s probably a good idea, because the original ending was a little … tame. Hopefully they won’t change too much.
“V” premieres tonight on ABC 8/9 Central.

ABC was going to advertise the upcoming premiere of their re-booted, re-imagined, lizard loving Sci-Fi epic “V”, with big ass red Vs cunningly displayed over major New York and Washington landmarks. That is until someone re-thought this idea, or maybe perhaps thought at all.
So instead producers slapped Muse’s “Uprising” tune on a promo and pow! a snappy little “V” music video is born. I have to say I like it. Good choice of song. “V” gets four episodes and then we wait and see if the ratings squeeze more Sci-Fi out of the network execs next year. “V” starts up Tuesday, Nov 3rd in a time continuum near you.

It’s on ABC and has a pretty good cast, including Losts Elizabeth Mitchell, Scott Wolf and the beautiful but probably villainous Morena Baccarin. “V” will premiere on Nov 3rd.

It’s been put on creative hiatus and been reduced to a mini series with a possible series expansion next year. ABC perhaps has some renewed confidence in the show, because they are about to promote V in a very unusual way.
ABC is going to be dropping a big red letter V into the skies over major landmarks in New York City, a place chock full of folks that don’t speak English or speak English and not Sci-Fi English. New York has had it’s share of scary so ABC is trying to get the word out that it’s just for giggles and that human enslaving, chewing, tossing, lizard people from the sandy planet of the unfriendly geckos are not going to drop in and cure our diseases while simultaneously plumping us up for their version of Thanksgiving. The show will air as a four-hour mini-series event on November 3, 2009, before turning as a series in March 2010. Or at least, that’s the current plan.
The new “V” stars Elizabeth Mitchell, Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Lourdes Benedicto, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Laura Vandervoort, and Scott Wolf.

“V”, currently slated to run a few episodes starting Nov 3rd and then resuming play next year, looks good to me. Many of the actors like Elizabeth Mitchell and Scott Wolf are known to have talent.
How can a story about mammal, possibly human chewing, mankind enslaving lizard people be bad? It’s impossible. Here we have a character intro video for Anna, played by Morena Baccarin, who is both beautiful and scary looking. I mean, look into her eyes. Also, there’s something about her mouth that makes me imagine her chomping on organs of mine that I particularly enjoy remaining attached to me. We have had a spotty start to our Fall Sci-Fi programming. “V” needs to bring some game. Via Vistorsite.

It seems a lot of major decisions have been made in regards to two highly anticipated sci-fi shows. Variety reports that NBC has decided to air Jesse Alexander’s Day One as a 4-hour mini-series event instead of a full-blown 13-episode season, as originally planned. Something similar is happening with the new V TV show on ABC.
So what’s the big idea? Apparently this is a cost-cutting measure by NBC, which is really taking a pounding with a lot of its expensive original scripted shows, including the poorly performing Heroes, which continues to dip in the ratings. As a result, instead of a 13-episode first season, Alexander’s Day One will instead premiere as a 4-hour mini-series event after the Winter Olympics (sometime around March 1, 2010), but the show will have to prove to NBC that it deserves a series (i.e. high ratings) for the network to commit.
Day One stars Adam Campbell, Catherine Dent, Julie Gonzalo, David Lyons, Derek Mio, Carly [...]

You can’t help but wonder if ABC is screwing the pooch with their new V show. The network seems to think the show needs “fixing”, and the Interwebs is already abuzz with news of creative delays. This is not good. Bad word of mouth created by conjecture before the show even airs is not something you want to precede your new show.
I saw the V pilot at Comic Con, and I liked it. I didn’t love it, mind you, but I thought there was a lot of potential there. The final few minutes could use a little punch-up, make the V’s more threatening, but overall I found it intriguing enough that I’m jonesing to see another episode. I didn’t think Elizabeth Mitchell would be convincing as the female lead, but I gotta admit, she’s really good.
The show premieres in November later this year. Until then, though, here are two clips from the pilot that showed up on YouTube.

ABC has decided to extend “V” ’s hiatus from two to six weeks to try and fix something that has obviously gone dreadfully wrong with the story of aliens that look like supermodels on the outside, but will reveal darker, rat chomping, possibly human munching, Earth enslaving inner bits.
My question is, why don’t more shows get these kind of time outs when the powers that be glom on to the fact that something craptacular this way comes? Just don’t let the show ride on the rails to oblivion. Crack some heads. Send an actor or two to night school acting classes or cattle prod a writer ot two. Get the creative juices flowing! These shows cost money people. So apparently we’ll see some episodes in Nov, before the stink appeared and then get back to the show in March when they’ve had time to sort it all out. I think this is a good thing. Thanks Ew.

After seeing the V pilot at Comic-Con, I’ve been looking forward to the show ever since, but man, I’m really not liking how ABC and their parent company Warner Bros. is trying to screw over original creator Kenneth Johnson in regards to properly crediting him on the show. WTF, ABC? Stop being dicks.
The hullabaloo has been chronicled over at Airlock Alpha, but here’s the down and dirty:
ABC and the WB are trying to maintain that their new V show is so different from the one Kenneth Johnson created in the ’80s, that they aren’t required to properly credit him on the show. As in, they don’t want to acknowledge Johnson in the show’s credits at all. Which is pure bull crap. Fortunately, the Writer’s Guild of America has done the right thing and ruled in favor of Johnson, concluding that the new show is indeed a remake of Johnson’s original V, and he will be properly credited as its [...]

The upcoming ABC Sci-Fi series “V’, starring Elizabeth Mitchell and Scott Wolf has been shut down for two weeks for a “creative hiatus”. Shouldn’t affect the series premiere on Nov 3rd, or so they say.
“V” is a remake of the 1984 series about lizardy aliens from space that do not come in peace and have a hankering for that mammal flavour. Why the creative shutdown? Something must be sucking. Here’s ABC’s take.
“We will take advantage of our November premiere to maximize creative opportunities and deliver the audience the best show possible.”
No one seems to be getting fired, yet, but something must not be up to speed. The previews I’ve seen look good. Let’s hope for the best. Elizabeth Mitchell is dreamy. Thanks EW.
