Sprinkled liberally among their coverage of the upcoming films of 2012, the LATimes also featured a couple of sci-fi films of note, including new images for “Men in Black 3″ starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, as well as “The Hunger Games”, featuring what appears to be a meeting with Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, and Jennifer Lawrence. I think you can also catch a body part from Josh Hutcherson in the photo, but don’t hold me to it.

Two Posters for Men in Black III
Cause you can’t keep a super secret man in black down, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back for the third time ’round. The boys are joined by Josh Brolin (as a young Tommy Lee Jones),
Jemaine Clement, Emma Thompson, Nicole Scherzinger, Alice Eve and Michael Stuhlbarg.
First Look at Will Smith and Josh Brolin on the Set of Men in Black 3
For a while there, it didn’t seem as if “Men in Black 3″ would actually make its May 23 2012 release date, what with all the rumors of script troubles and what have you. As it turns out, those problems may be a tad overstated, since it looks like “Men in Black 3″ is already shooting on location in the Bronx, New York as I type this.
Jemaine From Flight Of The Conchords To Play The Heavy In Men In Black 3
Jemaine Clement, the hilariously dry New Zealand lad from HBO’s Flight Of The Conchords has been cast as the villain Yaz, in “Men In Black 3″.
Barry Sonnenfeld Says Both Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are Back for Men in Black 3
Last we heard, it wasn’t clear if either Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones would return for a third outing as alien cops in another “Men in Black” movie. Well wonder no more, kids who wonder about stuff. According to Barry Sonnenfeld, who should know since he directed both movies and is expected back for the third, both Smith and Jones have already signed on to return.
Men In Black 3 Finally Ramping Up
“Men In Black 1″ and 2 made a whack ton of money. While the sequel was not in the league of the first installment, it still dropped 440 million into the laps of our fine feathered friends at Columbia Pictures. MIB2 came out in 2002, almost 10 years ago. Has Columbia stopped enjoying money?
Is Josh Brolin Joining the Men in Black?
Fresh of the success of “No Country for Old Men”, Josh Brolin is a wanted man. In Hollywood, that’s a good thing. It’s when no one’s speculating you for a movie role, that’s when you know your career is in trouble. Thanks to that breakthrough part, Brolin has landed leads in the comic book Western “Jonah Hex”, the sequel to “Wall Street”, and has a remake of “True Grit”, also with the Coen Brothers coming up. And if all goes according to plan, he might also play an MIB agent in “Men in Black 3″ for Sony, according to the LATimes.
Men in Black 3 is Defintely Moving Forward
We’ve known that Sony wants to make another “Men in Black” movie since April, but we haven’t really heard anything concrete about the movie since. That change today, with word that Sony has already hired “Tropic Thunder” writer Etan Cohen to pen the sequel and that he’s already deep into his draft, and that director Barry Sonnenfeld, who directed the franchise’s first two movies, is already attached to return.
Men in Black 3 in Development
I have to admit, although I always “got” why the “Men in Black” movies were popular with audiences (Will Smith, crazy action, wild CGI), I always thought it was lacking a lot of things. The plot, for one, was always so outrageous as to be silly, and the special effects alway looked a bit rushed or incomplete to me. But hey, the first two movies did gonzo box office, which is probably why greenlighting a “Men in Black 3″ was a no-brainer for Sony.
