AintItCool had a spy down under at a fan’s event and the smitten female fan asked Patrick if he would like to make a movie in Australia. Patrick said he was just about to make one with George Miller. Nicholas Hoult Joins The Cast Of Fury Road
The cast of “Mad Max 4: Fury Road” is starting to fully flesh out and director George Miller has now added Nicholas Hoult (A Single Man) as a fellas named Nux to the cast that includes Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Teresa Palmer. Zoe Kravitz (Daughter of Lenny) is also reportedly in talks to play a character named Five Wives. According to Jay Baruchel (“How To Train Your Dragon”, “Knocked Up”, “Sorcerers Apprentice”) Theresa Palmer has been cast as the main chick in George Miller’s “Mad Max 4: Fury Road” with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Jay and Theresa are in “Sorcerers Apprentice” together. During an event for “How To Train Your Dragon” Jay spilled the beans for Theresa.

We reported on the rumour and now, according to the Hollywood Reporter, the star of “RockNRolla”, “Bronson” and a ton of other things, Tom Hardy and everyones favorite charity auctioneer Charlize Theron (The Road), are in negotiations to play the major parts in writer-director George Miller’s return to the sand blasted, petrol scarce world of muscle cars, speed freaks and gyro-copters.

George Miller is getting pre-production underway for the epic return of Mad Max in “Fury Road”, set for principal photography in summer 2010. George seems unsure yet about who he’s going to cast but he probably has a good idea. Folks in the running include Sam Worthington (everything), Jeremy Renner (Hurt Locker) and recently the word was that Tom Hardy (Black Hawk Down, RockNRolla) was a possibility. Charlize Theron has also been mentioned for a part, perhaps as a female version of Max. The Australian Broadcast Company had an interview with George Miller where he talked about the year it was going to take to design and build the cars and the scope of the film (big, bad, uncharted). That is apparently the word being passed to E! Online today. George Miller, director of the previous Mad Max films (and Happy Feet) is deep in the process of auditions and is perhaps leaning toward Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy (Black Hawk Down, Band Of Brothers, RockNRolla) for the big roles in the film.
Will Jeremy Renner From The Hurt Locker Be The Next Mad Max?
I have yet to see the apparently fantastic new film “The Hurt Locker”, starring Jeremy Renner. It has not made it this far north yet. “Hurt Locker” is about a team of U.S. Army bomb disposal experts doing their very dangerous thing in Iraq. Apparently, in an interview with the Modesto Bee, Jeremy says he’s auditioning with George Miller for a part in the next Mad Max-Road Warrior film to perhaps begin filming next year. What part exactly he’s up for is a mystery. For anyone who has seen at least the trailer for The Hurt Locker, Jeremy has got that Max Max look in his eyes. More news as we get it. Via Aintitcool.
