The chapter is apparently a bonus feature, and will be available on both “Lost: The Complete Sixth Season” and “Lost: The Complete Collection”, both of which will debut on Blu-ray & DVD on August 24, 2010.
The way the network was carrying on about “Lost” closing up shop, you’d expect flags to be flying at half mast Monday morning. So with much drama, pomp and circumstance, “Lost” ended its reign as the IT show on ABC with a nicely done two and a half hour finale. It might not answer all the questions and appeal to all fans, but “Lost” ends on a note of hope with plenty of heart and soul — not to mention the mystery and fanaticism its been famous for. The apocalyptic battle for the island has begun, with the evil entity inhabiting the form of John Locke hell bent on extinguishing the light that exists at the mystical heart of the Island. Standing in his way is the the protector newly ordained by the former guardian Jacob, Jack. But things get worse when the Island begins falling apart, and Jack must restore order with the aid of Hurley, Desmond, and Ben [...]

From the Cuatro television network comes this eyebrow raising promo for the 6th and final season of LOST. What does it all mean? If the characters wandering around on the Island are chess pieces then who is knight and who is pawn? Of course more importantly, who is the King and Queen? The braintrust behind LOST, Damon Lindelof and friends have a lot of explaining to do in the final season before it makes any sense at all. The show begins the 6th season next year on Feb 2nd. Thanks Aintitcool for the scoop.

ABC has put out a quickie promo for the upcoming final season of their hit show “Lost”, which is set to begin and end its original TV run in 2010. As far as I can tell, there are no new footages, just old ones from the previous five, including the Kate-Sawyer cage match. Nice of them to include that one, though I’m not sure why. Also, Jack still looks like a total dork.

Entertainment Weekly had a vote and asked the probative question, “Top 3 Lost Mysteries You Absolutely Need to See Resolved in Season 6.” Instead of three they give us 15. As a massive fan of the show I completely concur on what must be revealed. My top three include Richard’s not aging, the Monster and the Egyptian thing. Obviously, some of the other questions, like who Jacob is, must be told or you wouldn’t be able to finish the story. I’d also like to know how the Black Rock made it to the island and the backstory for that. With the end of LOST now in sight, what will replace it? Will it be Day One or perhaps Flash Forward? Thanks EW.

With the networks officially kicking off their upfront presentations this month, we’ve now gotten official (and in some cases, semi-official) confirmations about which shows are coming back, which ones are gone, and what new offerings will be available to the genre fans out there. The schedule for the upfronts are: FOX’s begins today, followed by ABC on Tuesday, and CBS on Wednesday. NBC already did theirs earlier this month. THIS LIST WILL BE UPDATED WHEN APPROPRIATE NBC: It was recently confirmed that Chuck will return for a third, albeit shorter season (more info here), while Heroes will also be back for a fourth season. Meanwhile, the fantasy/parallel Earth show Kings is dead in the water, and so is the new Knight Rider despite a lot of tinkering. The net’s supernatural show Medium is also gone from the network, but didn’t stay gone long. It’s now at CBS. New additions include the mind-reading The Listener and the post-apocalyptic Day One. FOX: [...]

Look, I don’t pretend to know what the heck is going on here. The last time I saw an episode of Lost, people were running away from some smog monster or such. Now they’re trying to blow up the island. And there are a bunch of new people I’ve never even heard of doing stuff I don’t get. It’s Lost.
Wednesday night’s 100th episode of “Lost” was exactly the kind of dramatic, action-packed roller coaster ride the show will be remembered for after its final season has ended. For what has been referred to by some fans as an uneven fifth season, “The Variable” was the creative effort they’d been waiting for. I was a bit surprised that Daniel Faraday and his back-story were given the 100th episode. I thought perhaps the original cast, or the island itself should have had it, not a character that was introduced last season and missing from most of this one, but I digress. It certainly didn’t diminish my enjoyment. Jumping right in, we learned that from a young age, Daniel’s mother Eloise Hawking did all that she could to squash any and all of her son’s interests (the piano, college-age girls) in order to have him focus solely on his “gifts.” When Daniel grows older, he “breaks his brain” and is recruited by [...]

I’m going to start off with a question: Is there any character on “Lost” who doesn’t have big issues with their father? I’ll give you a minute to try and think of someone. Kate doesn’t count, because as you’ll remember, she had some major problems with her stepfather, unfortunately resulting in a house burned to the ground, with him inside. And as far as Jin goes, Sun’s father was enough for both of them to handle. Jack? No. Sawyer? No. Locke? No. Unless I’m mistaken, I believe Hurley is the only character currently on the show (whose home life we’ve been familiarized with) that has a healthy, close relationship with his or her father. Just something to chew on. The daddy issues on this week’s episode, “Some Like It Hoth” belong to Miles, he of the mysterious freighter folk who came to the island at the end of season three to seemingly offer salvation for our castaways, despite some serious [...]

Let me start by confessing that as someone who has seen every episode of “Lost” since Flight 815 crashed onto the island in 2004 (or was it?), I have characters that are my favorites and others that bore me to tears. For example, I loathe Jack and the whiney, put-upon way that Matthew Fox plays him, and for contrast, I love Sawyer and how Josh Holloway can make you root for a character you’re not sure you should even like. So naturally, if I know that characters I generally dislike, say Jack or Kate, are going to be the focus of an entire episode, I tend to lower my expectations because more often than not, the episode, for me at least, will just be blah. On occasion, I’m surprised, as I was by last week’s enjoyable Kate-centric episode. That being said, I believe I could watch an entire series devoted to Ben (the amazingly versatile Michael Emerson; seriously, does any [...]

Also, Jack and Locke finally throws down in the season finale. More: Speaking in a conference call with reporters on April 17, they revealed that the conflict between Jack (Matthew Fox) and Locke (Terry O’Quinn) will reach a head in the season finale; that viewers will learn more about the fate of Claire (Emilie de Ravin); and that viewers will learn more about what happened to Rousseau (Mira Furlan) and Karl (Blake Bashoff), who were shot by an unknown assailant and left for dead in the last original episode to air, “Meet Kevin Johnson.” Also, Cuse promised that viewers will see the smoke monster again in the [...]
