Life on Mars was one of those shows with an intriguing premise that I always intended to watch, but for one reason or another (mostly because of laziness), I never got around to watching it. Apparently neither did anyone else, because after struggling through its first season, the show, a remake of a British show of the same name, has been officially canceled by ABC.

Sci-Fi TV Trailer: Life on Mars
Here’s your first look at the American remake of the British TV show Life on Mars. The American version is premiering on ABC this Fall, and stars Jason O’Mara (In Justice) as a modern day cop chasing a serial killer who, after getting nearly run over by a car, somehow time-jumps to 1972. As it turns out, he’s a cop back then, too, except he’s the only one who knows he’s from the future. Or is he?
What is Life on Mars?
The title makes it sound like some kind of sci-fi space saga set on the planet Mars, but that’s not the case. It’s actually a time traveling cop show (yes, you heard me right) that will be showing up on ABC later this year, and is a remake of a British TV show of the same name. The premise: A cop from the present day is mysteriously transported back to the 1970s after a car accident; he ends up doing the same thing, working as a cop, only in the past. But wait, that’s not all — it’s also from the prolific TV creator David E. Kelley (Boston Public, Boston Legal, just to name a few).
