Four new pics from Pete Travis’ “Dredd”, the Brit-heavy reboot of the Sylvester Stallone movie. You can only improve on that version, right? One can only hope.

In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO.

Karl Urban in Dredd (2012) Movie Image

Isn’t Judge Dredd suppose to snarl a lot? Then again, that could just be an after-memory from the Sylvester Stallone “Judge Dredd” movie. Whatever, new pic below. Enjoy.

Judge Dredd Reboot Official Synopsis

According to IM Global, one of the producers on the upcoming “Judge Dredd” reboot, the film will be called simply “Dredd” (an attempt to distance it a tad from the Stallone version, perhaps?), and they’ve put out an official synopsis for the movie over at their website:

Karl Urban Officialy Confirmed as Judge Dredd

Not really news, because Karl Urban has been talking about the new “Judge Dredd” movie like he was already cast all the way back at Comic Con, but this is apparently an official confirmation that he has, in fact, been cast as Dredd in the reboot.

Karl Urban Confirms Judge Dredd Rumors

Earlier yesterday there were rumors that Karl Urban (McCoy in “Star Trek”) was the frontrunner to play Judge Dredd in the new version of the character currently being cooked up overseas. Over at Comic Con, where he was attending along with the cast of “Red”, in which he plays a bad CIA guy alongside Bruce Willis, Urban confirmed the casting rumor to MTV, saying that it’s “looking good” that he’ll be donning the shoulder pads and judging, er, guns for the remake.

Sunshine’s Alex Garland Writing Judge Dredd Remake

It’s been almost a year since Rebellion and 2000 AD announced that they were planning to reboot their “Judge Dredd” property. Haven’t heard much from it since, but now we know who is currently writing the script: one Alex Garland.

Judge Dredd Reboot is Coming

What, Sylvester Stallone as Judge Dredd wasn’t good enough for you guys? You gotta reboot the character for the big screen? Okay, why not. Let’s face it, 1995′s “Judge Dredd” was a major disappointment. A big-budget mega disappointment. Okay, okay, it pretty much stunk up the joint, which may be why the guys at 2000AD are already hard at work getting the reboot together for a 2009 start date. Don’t believe me? They said so at their site.
