Dredd New Clip, Featurette, and Comic Book Style Poster
Nix September 4, 2012Tuesday is Dredd day. Or at least, we’ve got a new clip, a new featurette, and a new comic book style poster for “Dredd” today. That’s, you know, three things. So I think it’s justified to call this a “Dredd” day, don’t you think? First up, a new comic book style poster: Followed by a new clip and featurette. Please to enjoy. The film, starring Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, Jason Cope, Langley Kirkwood, Kevon Kane, Joe Vaz, Warrick Grier, Scott Sparrow, Luke Tyler, and directed by Pete Travis, puts its foot down on the law September 21, 2012.
In Case You’ve Forgotten, Dredd is The Law, Mofos!
Nix August 31, 2012Don’t mess with Dredd. No, seriously, don’t mess with him. Here he is, stuck in a building full of criminals that want to kill him, and what does he do? He takes to the intercom and declares that, “Tough shit, mofos, this is how it’s gonna go down!” Now that’s balls. Also, that look on Lena Headey’s face at the end is pretty epic. She’s like, “Oh yeah? We’ll see about that, bitch!” The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One–a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of its latest scourge–a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of “Slo-Mo” experiencing reality at… Continue Reading »

Nix August 23, 2012Dredd is back in a new 60-second TV spot. He’s the law, doncha know. I am so looking forward to this movie it’s killing me. No, really, someone restrain me before I off myself! New Dredd TV Spot and Faux PSA
Nix August 21, 2012Tired of “Dredd” stuff yet? No? Good. Here’s the latest TV spot, called “Legendary”, and a groovy new faux PSA on the dangers of Slo-mo. They’re Dredd-tastic! It’s been a while since we’ve seen a hardcore big-budget sci-fi action movie that doesn’t seem especially interested in making “important” social points. “Dredd” looks exactly like that kind of movie. Hell, there might be a social jab or two, but let’s face it, you probably won’t notice among the explosions and exploding body parts. The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One–a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Lena Headey Does Not Appreciate Law and Order in New Dredd Red Band Clip
Nix August 20, 2012Apparently having a badge and a gun (not to mention a funky helmet and shoulder pads) get you nothing in terms of respect in a “future America”, because Lena Headey’s bad lady in this new Red Band (for language) clip from Pete Travis’ “Dredd” gives our coppers no leeway at all. Damn, what’s a cop gotta do to earn a little good will? The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One–a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Final Poster for Dredd
Nix August 3, 2012This, we’re told, is the final poster for Pete Travis’ upcoming “Dredd”. Enjoy. (Yes, I know Alex Garland wrote this thing and he’s “endlessly inventive”. Barf.)
Dredd Banners. Get Your Dredd Banners!
Nix July 27, 2012Man, I’m looking forward to “Dredd”. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a ballsy sci-fi action movie that isn’t couched in social allegories and symbolism and all that pussyfootin’ shit. If “Dredd” is nothing more than a slambang action movie with crazy violence, it’ll be a win in my book. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of its latest scourge–a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of “Slo-Mo” experiencing reality at a fraction of its normal speed. The film stars Karl Urban as Dredd, Olivia Thirlby as his too-cute partner, and Lena Headey… Continue Reading »
New Killer Images from Dredd
Nix July 18, 2012Oh my, I’m dying to see this thing. Nothing makes me more excited than crazy, fascist law-enforcement in a futuristic setting. Plus, Lena Headey all scarred up and shit. That’s hot. Starring Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, Jason Cope, Langley Kirkwood, Kevon Kane, Joe Vaz, Warrick Grier, Scott Sparrow, Luke Tyler, and directed by Pete Travis. Dredd upholds the law September 21, 2012.
Bloody Fantastic First Red Band Clip from Dredd
Nix July 13, 2012With emphasis on the bloody and fantastic, and slow-motion, since the film involves a drug that slows down time for the user. “Dredd” recently played to an enthusiastic crowd at Comic Con earlier this week, but being that everyone was desperate to get in to see the movie, the fact that they really liked it was probably not a surprise. Then again, if the entire movie is like this clip, I could see why. And is it me, or is Olivia Thirlby incredibly cute in this movie? The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One–a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. Karl Urban is Dredd, and This is His Official Trailer
Nix June 21, 2012Well, you’ve waited long enough, I guess, so without any further fanfare, here’s the official trailer for 2000AD’s attempt at a “Judge Dredd” live-action movie. Take a gander at the trailer below and judge for yourself if it’s better, on par, or way worse than the Sylvester Stallone version. It actually looks pretty decent, and I’m totally digging Thirlby as Dredd’s fellow Judge. In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO. The sci-fi futuristic shoot’em up stars Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby and Lena Headey. There are other characters in the movie, along with other Judges, but I suspect those three names are the only ones you’ll need to know for the majority of the movie. The law breaks faces this September 21, 2012.
Negotiation’s Over, Bitches! Check out 10 Seconds of the Judge Dredd Trailer
Nix June 19, 20122000AD’s official “Dredd” trailer doesn’t premiere until this Thursday, but that hasn’t stopped Machinima, who got the exclusive, from releasing 10 seconds of it during their 2012 Comic Con preview Youtube video. Yeah, you don’t really want to watch all 5 minutes and change of some dude standing in front of a green screen making jokes, so let’s just go with the 10 seconds of “Dredd”. Feel free to skip the rest. In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO. Starring Karl Urban as Dredd and Lena Headey as the woman who tries to kill him. I’m willing to bet she doesn’t succeed, though. Doesn’t look TOO bad… Update: Here’s the whole shebang.
Dredd Trailer Premieres This Thursday
Nix June 18, 2012It’s curious that we haven’t seen a single second of official footage from 2000 AD’s remake of “Dredd” yet. I don’t know whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Maybe they just wanna really keep it under lock and key until it’s good and ready to be shown. Then again, maybe those rumors we heard about trouble on the set are real and the producers are trying desperately to fix some issues with the movie, that it makes putting out an earlier trailer difficult. Whatever the case, “Dredd” will finally be giving us a glimpse of his laying down of the law this Thursday over at Machinama.
Behind-the-Scenes Pics from Dredd
Nix June 15, 2012Check out three new looks at Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby on the set of Pete Travis’ “Dredd”. The 2000 AD-produced film is hoping to cleanse the taste of the Sylvester Stallone version from your mouth, but will it, or will it just add to the dreadful cinematic history of Dredd? (See what I did there?) In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO. The film stars Urban as Dredd, with Thirby as rookie Judge Cassandra Anderson, who, we’re told is a psychic. I guess that’ll help. She sure looks like a whelp of a girl to be running around arresting and “judging” bad guys. The film, which also stars Lena Headey as the heavy, is due September 21, 2012. Sure wish they would release a trailer for this thing by now, though…
