New U.S. Trailer for Nazis From Space Invasion Flick Iron Sky

Nix July 4, 2012

I guess even schlocky sci-fi counts as sci-fi, right? Anyways, here’s the latest U.S. trailer for director Timo Vuorensola’s “Iron Sky”, which dares to posit the question, “What would happen if Nazis, who have been living on the moon for the last 70 years, decided to launch a new invasion of Earth?” Apparently a Sarah Palin clone saves the day, though I’m sure that won’t prevent the film from mocking her to death in the process anyway. In the last moments of World War II, a secret Nazi space program evaded destruction by fleeing to the Dark Side of the Moon. During 70 years of utter secrecy, the Nazis construct a gigantic space fortress with a massive armada of flying saucers…and now they’re coming back to claim Earth for their own. Two Nazi officers, ruthless Klaus Adler (Götz Otto) and idealistic Renate Richter (Julia Dietze), travel to Earth to prepare the invasion. In the end, when the Moon Nazi UFO… Continue Reading »

Moon Nazis are Murderously Territorial in First 5 Minutes of Iron Sky

Nix March 16, 2012

If moon Nazis were people, they’d be old men sitting on their porch yelling at kids to stay off their lawn while waving their double-barrel shotgun around in the air. Here’s the first 5 minutes from director Timo Vuorensola’s delightfully ridiculous looking movie “Iron Sky”, which recently made its North American premiere at SXSW down there in Austin aways. World War II did not end with complete defeat for the Nazis – some of them managed to utilize their secret technologies to flee to the dark side of the Moon. There, deep within their swastika fortress, Schwarze Sonne, they have plotted the reconquest of the Earth for over 70 years. In 2018, the flagship of their space armada, the gigantic Götterdämmerung, is nearing completion, but when the next American crewed moon mission lands too close to the Nazi base for comfort, the plans are rushed forward. Starring Udo Kier, Kym Jackson, and Julia Dietze.

Space Nazis Attack in New Iron Sky Trailer and Poster

Nix February 9, 2012

This is probably a little too wacky to be really sci-fi, but it’s Nazis from space, and who doesn’t like that? I know I do. It looks to be completely campy, though, so I wouldn’t put too much serious thought into its premise or its less-than-subtle attempts at political “satire”. I mean, it’s Nazis from outer space! Anyways, new theatrical trailer and poster for your Nazi lovin’ pleasure below. Towards the end of World War II the Nazi scientists made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity. From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne (Black Sun) on the dark side of the Moon. This base was to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right. Now it’s 2018, and it’s the time for the first American Moon landing since the 70′s. Meanwhile the Nazi invasion, that… Continue Reading »

Iron Sky Trailer

Nix May 22, 2009

In 1945, the Nazis went to the moon. In 2018, they’re coming back. But you won’t have to wait that long to see them try to take over the world once again, as Nazis are wont to do. Timo Vuorensola’s “Iron Sky”, a sci-fi action/comedy is headed your way in 2010, but since it’s a Finnish/German production, you’re probably looking at an import DVD release here, folks. Check out the film’s very stylish first trailer. I love the music, and the visuals are pretty incredible, though you don’t get the sense this is a comedy. Then again, it’s about Nazis from the moon so what else could it be? The Nazis set up a secret base on the moon in 1945 where they hide out and plan to return to power in 2018. Starring Udo Kier, Julia Dietze, Götz Otto, and Tilo Prückner. Timo Vuorensola, who last directed a Star Trek fan film called “Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning”, which… Continue Reading »
