The high point of the evening wasn’t the premiere of Marvel Studio’s latest blockbuster, but a bear that had escaped from a nearby circus. It prowled around the parking lot, rumored to have clawed a few cars and generally making it a stressful experience for anyone attempting to see the midnight premiere of “Iron Man 2″. At the very least you were guaranteed to have gotten your money’s worth no matter what you thought of the film.

AC/DC has a new video just out called Shoot To Thrill and it features some new footage from “Iron Man 2″ where Robert Downey Jr. flies around in his little suit and drops the dump truck on various evil doers while the crowd goes wild, girls rip off their tops, etc. Just like a typical day of work for your average Sci-Fi blogger. Entertainment Tonight has a preview coming up tomorrow giving us the inside scoop on how “Iron Man 2″ is going to rock. If you’re like me, you went into the first Iron Man with low expectations. Obviously, I left the theatre loving it. Big shoes to fill for the second installment. I get the feeling that writers and directors know that audiences are expecting story and character in their super hero films. Judging from the preview, looks like we’re on track. Hey Look, It’s A New Iron Man 2 Pic!
One of the reasons I loved “Iron Man” (and there were plenty) was how real the tech looked that Tony Stark put together. It actually looked feasible and that put a powerful surge into my permanently engorged geek gland. “Iron Man 2″ looks to give us more of the same. How many of you out there dream of having a lab of such glass and glowing magnificence down some spiral staircase in your home by the sea? The International Poster For Iron Man 2
I always find it interesting how marketing guys tailor their promotions for a movie depending on which side of the pond the movie will play. Like the International poster for Iron Man 2 for instance. I thought that the first poster, released this week depicting Tony in armour back to back with War Machine, would have been plenty acceptable for all. Instead, for the International set, we get Tony brooding in the Iron without the helmet.

When you have a hi-rez shot of Scarlett Johansson in the probably artificial, yet wonderfully skin adhering material called pleather (plastic leather), it’s all you really need for an evening of drunken wish fulfillment. She is pretty amazing.
