New Day One Extended Trailer Reveals the Mystery, More Plot Details

So, I bet you thought NBC’s new Day One show was just another generic post-apocalyptic TV show ala Jericho and its ilk, huh? Well guess again, because this thing is starting to shape up into something I didn’t really expect. Check out this extended trailer for the show, which reveals a decidedly alien menace behind all the chaos. And not “alien” in the from outer space variety, though that’s certainly a possibility. At this point, it seems like the mystery of who, or what is behind the “global catastrophe” that has all but destroyed the Governments of the world will be kept under wraps for a while.

Heroes is Almost Officially Kinda Renewed for Season 4

You may or may not have heard, but there are rumblings aplenty about the fate of NBC’s superhero show Heroes. The whole crisis seems to stem from a very innocent twitter by one of the show’s stars, Greg Grunberg, but it sure set off a firestorm. Everyone and their momma who never liked the show in the first place have begun pontificating the show’s end. Well guess what, guys, screw you. The show is coming back for a fourth season. Probably.

Jesse Alexander’s Day One Adds Carly Pope, Three More

Maybe getting kicked off Heroes was the best thing that could ever have happened for TV producer/writer Jesse Alexander, whose post-apocalyptic TV show Day One has just been greenlit for a pilot by NBC, and now he’s added four more to his cast. Leading the way is Carly Pope (pictured, left), recently seen (and killed off!) the current season of 24, plus three others, including David Lyons, the show’s male lead, Adam Campbell and Thekla Reuten.

Jesse Alexander’s Day One Gets Pilot Order

Here’s the deal about former Heroes producer Jesse Alexander’s new TV show Day One: I wish it wouldn’t waste time trying to find out the reasons for the apocalypse, but just move on with the aftermath. I know, the whole “what happened?” is going to be one of those “big questions” that the show attempts to answer during its run, and I’m sure clues will be dropped left and right, the answers always out of reach, and — you know what, it’s BORING. Can’t I just get a TV show about life in the aftermath of a mysterious, unknown apocalypse?
