Sid Mead’s Blade Runner Concept Art Up For Sale

The “Blade Runner” faithful and Sci-Fi mavens everywhere will recognize Syd Mead as one of the genre’s greatest futurists, a man who translates the Sci-Fi vision into imagery for such films as “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”, “Tron”, “Aliens” and “Mission: Impossible III”.

Is Ridley And Tony Scott Developing A Blade Runner Sequel?

As “Blade Runner” is my favorite movie and actually a bit of an obsession, I’ve always treated the thought of a sequel with mixed emotions. If you go there and mess it up, it’s going to sting. I really love “Blade Runner” because of all the movies I’ve ever seen, it came closest to generating the feeling like this alternate or future place actually existed. It was as real as a documentary or like a really interesting place you went to on vacation but could never afford to go to again.

MythBusters Adam Savage On His Blade Runner Obsession

Mythbusters man of DIY and garage hacker genius Adam Savage has a problem. It’s the same problem I have so I feel his pain. He’s really into “Blade Runner” and especially, really into Harrison Ford’s Blade Runner gun, the finest weapon outside of the light saber in movie history. The difference between Adam and I is he’s got talent and I’m a basement-less and garage-free lame condo dweller with almost no tools. It’s a sad story.

Lego Blade Runner And Star Wars As Epic As You Would Hope

Hard to fully describe the complete heights of awesome that both of these LEGO Sci-Fi dramas reach in their portrayals of the Roy Batty death scene in “Blade Runner” and a made up but wicked light saber battle, “Star Wars” style. I love people with ridiculous amounts of time on their hands. Thanks Topless Robot.

Estate Of Phillip K. Dick Threatens Google Over Nexus 1

I knew this was coming. Did you hear? Google just released a new “Superphone” and it’s pretty nifty or so I’ve heard. They’ve decided to call it the Nexus One. Now I think it’s pretty obvious here that since Google has called the operating system in the phone (and in many others) Android and now their own personal phone the Nexus One, that this is a direct reference to the line of Replicants in the greatest movie of all time, a film called “Blade Runner”. This tickles me to death actually. Someone had to start the ball rolling. We start with the Nexus One and then progress through the many layers and folds and versions of hardware and bioware until eventually we get to Roy Batty’s supreme badness with the Nexus Six.
