New pictures from “Avatar” (actual pictures!) have been airdropped to the wide and waiting world to prepare us for the ridiculous awesomeness that will be the “Avatar” trailer hitting us sometime this morning. In evidence we have a shot of incoming vessels, perhaps hellbent in disturbing a virgin paradise, a dude that looks like Adam Clayton (Stephen Lang) from U2 looking buff and worried and Michelle Rodriquez, gazing off into her wonderful Sci-Fi future. Thanks ComingSoon.

Motion Capture Man And The Foam Noodles Of Avatar
Recently, I09 ambushed and held hostage Reuben Langdon, one of the motion capture actors that played all the blue running alien guys in “Avatar”, soon to grace your 3D Imax of choice. Making “Avatar” was a high tech affair, but while the end result will scream sophisticated nerd, the actual process involved in the filming was more Monty Python. As you will see in these excerpts from the interview held at the Wraith Of Con party at Comic-Con.
Is This The Avatar Trailer Come Early?
I’m not sure, looks to be a version with incomplete effects. I imagine James Cameron’s lawyers will be all over us to take it down but for now, enjoy it. I’m not focusing so well yet today. Coffee hasn’t quite worked it’s sweet, sweet love as of yet. Anyways, enjoy the Avatar magic! Blame Aintitcool for the early, in progress, look.
Avatar Trailer Coming This Wednesday
Hey, kids, excited to see that trailer for James Cameron’s sure-to-be-epic “Avatar” that everyone is talking about post-Comic Con? Unfortunately you probably won’t end up seeing that one, as the trailer Apple.com is advertising is being called a “teaser trailer”, which I suspect will run less than three minutes and not the 25 minutes of awesome footage that was shown at Comic Con.
Two New Avatar Images
Can’t get enough of James Cameron’s “Avatar”? Here are two new images from the upcoming sci-fi epic posted on Icelandic website www.kvikmyndir.is. One is of Sam Worthington and the other is James Cameron on the set doing what directors do.
James Cameron Gets Interviewed At Comic-Con
James Cameron, director and creator behind the oncoming train called “Avatar” was cornered and interviewed last week in San Diego at the annual Comic-Con. James gets his Nerd on pretty good as he discusses filming in 3d and Peter Jackson’s production of the Hobbit with Aintitcool’s Quint.

Official Poster for Cameron’s Avatar
This one has been floating around for a bit ever since the San Diego Comic-Con last week, but this looks like a more finished, polished version of the poster for James Cameron’s “Avatar”. It actually has text on it, which I’m assuming means it’s official. Could be wrong, of course.
James Cameron Mans The Big Gun In New Avatar Shot
Material from the set of James Cameron’s “Avatar”, the soon to be new Fanboy religion, is as rare as rain on Arrakis. As the day of the unveiling approaches, James is starting to give us a few looks. He’s been showing footage from the film to the privileged at Comic-con and a few other places. From these showings, all we have are accounts of the action.
First Hand Account Of Avatar Screening
From Comic-Con in San Diego comes the best first hand account of the preview footage from James Cameron’s Magnum Opus “Avatar” that I have seen. We Sci-Fi types are earnest but also somewhat jaded. It’s rare to see so many accounts of viewers proclaiming that “Avatar” is different. Different and awesome. Io9, the heralds of this account, have seen some serious Sci-Fi in their times. Here’s a quote from their adventures.
Comic-Con ’09: Astroboy and Battlestar Galactica Panels
There were three significant sci-fi themed panels at Comic-Con on Thursday: Astroboy, Battlestar Galactica, and James Cameron’s Avatar. Alas, despite waiting three hours in line for “Avatar”, I only managed to catch the final 5 minutes or so of the panel, just enough to hear Cameron saying that he plans to show the first 15 minutes of “Avatar” for free in Imax theaters. I was not, unfortunately, in time to catch the 25 minutes of footage that Cameron brought with him. Earlier in the day, I did manage to catch the “Astroboy” and BSG panels. Observations from the two below.
How Much Will Be Revealed Of Avatar At Comic-Con?
On the mean streets of San Diego (kidding) signs and portents of thrilling things to come at Comic-Con have begun to appear. For the first time, the magnum opus that is or will be James Cameron’s “Avatar” have their alien stars revealed in posters slapped up on light posts all over town. The posters show the blue Na’Vi, staring down upon us Earthers, gazing in judgement at our hubris.
James Cameron Finally Lets Avatar Out Of The Bag
Avatar is coming. We’ll see it in theatres in December in glorious digital 3d. The director of “Avatar”, James Cameron, has been slow to release footage or even pictures from the movie. While we are kept in the Sci-Fi darkness, our geeky imagination builds more hype than if he released a ton of content.
James Cameron’s Avatar: The In Depth Skinny
You’ve been seeing some decent Sci-Fi lately. “Star Trek” was terrific. Terminator 4 was disappointing but had it’s moments of gunmetal glory. Soon, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” will be upon you, commanding your attention with giant neon coloured robots.
James Cameron’s Avatar To Run As Long As you Wish it Would
I myself, speaking personally, have nothing at all against a nice long movie. When it’s good, let her go. The longer the movie, especially a Sci-Fi movie, the more footage we can nerd over later and dissect, frame by frame. A long movie means a really long DVD cut as well. More added scenes! “Avatar” is going to be great. James Cameron will not disappoint us and we now learn that “Avatar” will have a running time of 189 minutes. That’s more than 3 hours! All of that in glorious digital 3D kids. Bring the visine. The inside scoop via Slashfilm.
More Views Of The Avatar Heavy Loader From The Floor Of E3
Collider got themselves some snaps of a freaking huge and cool 14 foot tall powersuit from the E3 game convention in LA. This beast is from the “Avatar” game and it’s safe to say I think it’ll also be featured prominently in the movie. Making movie props must be an incredibly satisfying profession. They give you tons of money and you get to make reality out of the figments of your Sci-Fi imagination. What these craftsman can do is alot more art than we all give them credit for. Thanks to Collider for the shots.
