Check out the 10-minute climax for a Bollywood movie called “Enthiran” (aka “Robot”), which features, among other things, a robot guy blasting an army of cops using their own guns, then changing into a giant snake made entirely of replicas of himself (I shit you not), and other assorted nuttiness.
The film ended up being the second highest grossing movie of all time in India, and cost a whopping $35 million, a major budget in that part of the world. It’s said that nearly 80% of the budget went entirely to special effects, and from the looks of it, 90% of those special effects went into making these 10 minutes. The film also co-stars former Miss World Aishwarya Rai.
(And in case you’re wondering, the reason why you seem to be hearing echoes is because this copy of the movie was dubbed for Russian audiences, where the dubbing actually takes place on top of the original voice dialogue. Weird, I know. I’d rather read subtitles, or have the whole thing dubbed over myself, then have to listen to two different audio tracks. That’s just … weird.)
