Bloody Fantastic First Red Band Clip from Dredd

With emphasis on the bloody and fantastic, and slow-motion, since the film involves a drug that slows down time for the user. “Dredd” recently played to an enthusiastic crowd at Comic Con earlier this week, but being that everyone was desperate to get in to see the movie, the fact that they really liked it was probably not a surprise. Then again, if the entire movie is like this clip, I could see why.
And is it me, or is Olivia Thirlby incredibly cute in this movie?
The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One–a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of its latest scourge–a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of “Slo-Mo” experiencing reality at a fraction of its normal speed.
Starring Karl Urban as Dredd, the bringer of the law, and Lena Headey as the big bad. Yes, Lena Headey, brother-humpin’ Queen of “Game of Thrones”, is the film’s villain. I’ll believe it when I see it.
