I have no idea what they’re saying in this trailer for the documentary BLAST! except that it seems to be about galaxies, formations of said galaxies, and some telescope they’re trying to launch using balloons. No, it’s not a live-version of Pixar’s “Up”, it’s actually real life. Check out the trailer for it below. Science geeks will no doubt get more out of this than I, but it seems to be worth watching if you’re into this sort of stuff. Or at least, it should prove entertaining when it finally lands on the History Channel, which it no doubt is headed.
With extraordinary access, BLAST exposes a world of risky, hardcore, scientific adventure. The story follows an international team of astrophysicists trying to launch a multi-million dollar telescope on a NASA high-altitude balloon. Their journey to discover thousands of early galaxies takes them from the Arctic to the Antarctic. Revealing frustrations, inevitable failures and ultimate triumph, BLAST puts a human face on the quest to answer our most basic question – How did we get here?
Starring Mark Devlin, Barth Netterfield, Victor Davison, Jeff Klein, Marie Rex, Gaelen Marsden, Enzo Pascale, Christopher Semisch, and Matthew Truch. Directed by Paul Devlin.
