Biowares Mass Effect Coming Soon To A Theatre Near You

Desperate for the next mega movie “tent pole” Sci-Fi franchise, studio types are moving from comics as their go to genre source to games as their new inpiration.

Mass Effect is a series of games (two plus a whack of addon content) from Canadian game makers extraordinaire Bioware. It follows the exploits of Commander Shepard as he blasts around the Galaxy, saving humanity and a ton of other crazy looking species from certain extermination. Both games are really good and as I said contain many a wicked looking alien.

Legendary Pictures has bought the rights. Mark Protosevich (“The Cell”, “Poseidon”, “I Am Legend”) is in talks to write the script. It’s a rich world and with a good sized budget could be a lot of fun. Via Heat Vision.
