Battlestar Galactica 4th Season Start Date, Episodes

The boys over at Collider have uncovered the start date for Battlestar Galactica’s fourth and final season: April 4th, 2008. And although the final season was scheduled to wrap up with 22 episodes (a full compliment for a network TV season), only 10 was finished and put in the can before the Writers Strike hit.

So what does this mean? Well it’s pretty self-explanatory.

Yes, BSG will end after its fourth season, and yes, Ron Moore and company had planned to end it after 22 episodes, but because of the strike, only 10 episodes were finished, and depending on how long the strike lasts, those 10 episodes are all we’re going to be getting for a while. Chances are that the Sci Fi Channel will finish up the season with the remaining 12 episodes once the strike ends. Then again, there is no signs whatsoever that the strike will end anytime soon, so who knows when the final 12 episodes will air after the fourth season’s April 4th premiere?
