Avatar Set: James Cameron and Sam Worthington
Avatar (2009) Movie, Sci-Fi Movie News — By Nix on December 23, 2008 |
The hype surrounding “Avatar”, James Cameron’s first movie in what seems like eons is so huge right now that if the film doesn’t open and shatter every box office record in the known world since the history of time, it might be considered a failure. Just kidding, of course, but not by very much. The anticipation in regards to not just of the story, the sci-fi aspect, but also the advance technology that Cameron is promising, is just major leagues stuff. I hope the man can pull it off, cause it would sure be cool to get more than one Cameron movie per decade…
In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na’vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.
Via the LA Times, here’s an image of Cameron and “Avatar” star Sam Worthington on the set of “Avatar”. As you can see, Worthington’s character is a paraplegic, hence his wheelchair-bound status.

The New York Times published this picture of Cameron on the set of “Avatar” today. Instead of making a whole new post, I thought I’d just add it here.
