Vincenzo Natali, director of the overhyped “Splice” and “Cube” has been officially hired to direct one of the greatest and potentially most visual Science Fiction novels in our beloved genre, “Neuromancer”. William Gibson kicks all sorts of ass. Previously, movies based on his short stories or books have left a lot to be desired (“Johnny Mnemonic”). William Gibson is probably my favorite writer so I’m ridiculously excited to hear that someone is giving “Neuromancer” a decent shot. “Neuromancer” is about a dude named Case that gets his brain fried for hacking the wrong fella. Case is offered repair in exchange for doing another job. “Neuromancer” is not your average Science Fiction novel. It’s going to take some serious skills to make the Matrix come alive. Vincenzo gave “Splice” a decent try that ended up a bit cheesy. He has passion for this project though and the blessing of the Gibson so I’m going to be optimistic. “Neuromancer” is home to [...]

Imagine being snatched from your happy Earth life and your work as a killer of one sort or another. You’re comfortable, you’ve good at your job and suddenly, PoW!, you’re in an alien jungle hellhole running, arms akimbo, from gigantic and vicious hunters, eager to mount your various body parts over their big screen televisions. It’s the kind of entertainment that the whole family can enjoy! It’s coming out July 9th. It’s stars Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo and Laurence Fishburne.
Well it’s the end. The first season of StarGate Universe is over. Drama just isn’t interesting unless the people you’re watching experience change. Space is stressful. Did the castaways evolve as human beings over the season? Did the year of dark corridors, invading aliens, bad food and grouchy Scotsmen culminate in a wicked finale or did it all just fizzle? The Destiny is a cursed ship. It is not friendly to it’s very sensitive biological inhabitants. For some reason though, that has not in any way been illuminated, the Destiny appears to be a big hunk of junk that everyone seems to want. Whether you are pink or blue skinned, the Destiny seems from afar like it’s brimming with secrets. Up close though, it turns out to be nothing more than a giant Space bus. At least this seems to be the case, in all that has been revealed so far. It’s probably in where this thing is headed that [...]

We’ve been hearing about Seth Green’s (Robot Chicken) Star Wars comedy in bits and pieces. On the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards, Seth his own self provided a little more illumination. It’s in the early production stages and will be animated, which is a good thing if you have watched the hilarious Robot Chicken Star Wars stuff. Here’s Seth with more from his quick interview. “It’s just so early. When there’s good stuff to tell, I’ll tell you,” he said. “I don’t want to say anything. People are really dramatically misinterpreting it.” It’s encouraging to hear, but Green wouldn’t say much more. Josh asked him to set fans on the right path, but the “Robot Chicken” architect replied, “It’s too early to set you straight, that’s the worst part about it.” Okay, there were a few facts that he would reveal. “It’s gonna be CG animation, it’s gonna be really funny and it’s gonna be ‘Star Wars’ in [...]

My, how the time has flied this season on Stargate Universe. It’s already season finale time. It’s a two parter and it’s called Incursion. Let’s see which side, the good guys or those nasty Lucians, get to pretend to drive the Destiny. When last we left the show, Colonel Young was putting a mighty squeeze play on the traitorous Telford by locking him away and venting all his beloved oxygen into space. As I said in my last recap, a fella with Hypoxic hypoxia isn’t going to be telling many coherent stories. Adequate oxygen is necessary for both subterfuge and truth telling. Obviously, Young was up to his usual shenanigans. The laws of television drama, of course, prohibit Young from telling his minions what he’s doing. To tell them his plan is to tell us and that just isn’t as much fun and we like fun, don’t we?l The gang, minus Mr. Greer, loyal to the core, almost mutiny but [...]

The Walking Dead, based on the delicious comic The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman, started production today down Atlanta way. It’s going to be a good one kids, mark my words. We’ve got some seriously mouldy Zombie pics here from the set and as a connoisseur of fine Zombie fare, these are some mighty good looking Zombies. The Walking Dead is being brought to you by a network that takes it’s adult television seriously, having brought us the truely outstanding Breaking Bad and Mad Men. Frank Darabont is directing the story of Rick Grimes, small town sheriff, who wakes up from a coma to see his world has been overrun with brain thirsty savage dead people. While you can be assured that there will be plenty of Zombie on Bullet action, The Walking Dead also deals with what happens to the people and their relationships when society crumbles under the cadavourous enslaught of the hungry dead. It’ll be a 6 [...]

Before my little trip into Universe, I didn’t have a lot of experience with Stargate and I only knew Richard from his fun filled MacGyver days. I love him. He’s got that gravitas thing and in accompaniment, a light and funny approach. Please Stargate guys, find a way to get him on the Destiny forever. OMG a cliffhanger! Awesome. But let me be a good recapper and start at the beginning. Rush has the most vivid dream in history. But it’s pretty obvious it is neither a dream or something originally in his own head as he sees the reflection of another person in a car window. That is really a hi rez dream. I’m jealous. Resolution like that would have made my dreams of Marina Sirtis way more fun.
