If you’ve read the Suzanne Collins novels that “The Hunger Games” will be based on, then you already know that heroine Katnis Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence in the Gary Ross-directed trilogy) can be pretty badass when she needs to be. She’s a tough gal who rarely lets her emotions get the best of her, and she’s quite handy with that bow and arrow. So yeah, they might really happen after all. Vulture reports that the studio is very keen on making the sequels back-to-back, and while the two films will form a single coherent story, they can also be viewed as stand-alone films. Not sure how that’s going to work, but that’s what they’re saying.

The great thing about George Lucas’ “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” is just how clunky it made even great actors like Liam Neeson and Samuel L. Jackson look while reciting those Godawful lines of dialogue. I mean, listen to Jackson in this trailer for the 3D re-release. It’s like he’s choking on a rock while having to read George’s lines! Awesome.
Akira Lives! Again!
Sorry, haters of the American “Akira” — it ain’t dead yet. In fact, it’s very much alive, with Variety reporting that Warner Bros. has officially given the greenlight to the movie, with an early 2012 start date on the horizon.
