You don’t get a lot of independently financed and produced sci-fi action movies nowadays. Or at least, you don’t get one that looks decent enough to tell people about without, you know, lying your ass off. The Brothers Shumway are trying to change that with their new movie “Enigma”, which looks like it’s got shades of Christian Alvart’s “Pandorum” and David Twohy’s “Pitch Black”. Trust me, those aren’t bad comparisons at all. Check out a full synopsis and trailer for the film below.

Predators Character Profile Video: Adrien Brody’s Royce
The latest “Predators” sneak peek gives us a look and some insights into Royce, the character played by Adrien Brody, because when you think of sci-fi balls to the wall action movie, you of course think Adrien Brody. Okay, maybe not so much, but maybe that’ll change after “Predators” invades movie screens everywhere.
Paul W.S. Anderson to Direct Buck Rogers 3D
After a lot of fits and starts, Buck Rogers is finally going to wake up in the 25th century again — thanks to Paul W.S. Anderson, who has signed on to direct a 3D feature film based on the character originally created by Philip Francis Nowlan and was launched way back in the 1920s. The character’s most famous incarnation is, no doubt, the TV show “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century” starring Gil Gerard and the comely Erin Gray.
Michael Bay Says No 3D for Transformers 3
Given the option, Michael Bay wants no part of the 3D making process, and he wants no part of converting his “Transformers 3″ into 3D just so studios can charge an extra $3 bucks per movie ticket. The reasons? Bay believes 3D cameras are too heavy to shoot with during production, and converting 2D movies into 3D (the popular method nowadays with studios) is just, well, shit.
G4′s Olivia Munn Talks Iron Man 2 in Complex Magazine
This month’s Complex Magazine cover girl is none other than G4′s Olivia Munn, the object of wet dreams for sci-fi geeks everywhere. In the mag, Munn talks about a variety of things, including her role in Jon Favreau’s coming “Iron Man 2″.
Here’s an excerpt from the “Iron Man 2″ part:
Sam Worthington Thinks a Terminator 5 Would be Groovy
In fact, he’s even come up with a great idea to bring his Marcus Wright character back (as you’ll recall, Marcus didn’t exactly have a happy ending at the end of “Terminator Salvation”), and it involves — what else? — time travel.
Worthington tells MTV:
FlashForward’s Return From Hiatus Delivers Lowest Ratings Yet
For a TV show that I had great hopes for when I heard about it and followed up on it, “FlashForward” has not exactly met my expectations. In fact, it’s pretty much failed to even keep me interested, which is probably why, though I’ve continued to DVR the new episodes just in case, I haven’t actually watched them yet. Apparently I’m not the only one.
Opening Today: Repo Men

Can’t believe I forgot this, but better late than never: Miguel Sapochnik’s “Repo Men” opens today. Did you see it? The film stars Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, Alice Braga, Liev Schreiber, Carice van Houten, and finds Law and Whitaker playing the repo men of the title, except instead of cars, they go after your human organs. It all goes bad for our hero Jude when he becomes one of the people he’s been hunting down. They call that irony.
Predators Full Trailer Finally Drops In
Here’s your first full trailer for the Robert Rodriguez-produced “Predators”, starring Adrien Brody as a meathead American merc who, along with a bunch of other Earthly badasses, have just been dropped on a decidedly unEarthly planet for hunting season.
New Riverworld (2010) TV Mini-Series Review
I originally tried to write a traditional review for this new incarnation of “Riverworld”, but found it too difficult. The review just never came together, which happens when I find myself writing about a movie that I neither loved nor hated. “Riverworld” falls somewhere in there. As a result, I’ve written this non-traditional review. Please to enjoy.

The good blokes over at Disney have released four new images from the set of Joseph Kosinski’s “Tron: Legacy”, showing castmembers like Olivia Wilde and other fellas in their black pleather best. Check them out below.

Can’t get enough “Avatar”? Tired of wearing those goofy glasses at the theaters with other smelly people covered in blue paint? Well if you’re in the mood for some 2D blue people at home, you’ll get your chance when James Cameron’s gazillion dollar selling “Avatar” arrives on DVD and Blu-ray April 22, 2010 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Why April 22nd? That’s also Earth Day, of course. Press release from 20th Century Fox below.
Shocker! Another Robert Rodriguez-Hyped Movie Falls by the Wayside
Look, folks, it’s not that I like to bash Robert Rodriguez, it’s just that, well, it’s fun to remind people that Rodriguez is one of those very enthusiastic kids who declares he’s going to do this and that, but ends up not doing either this or that. It’s that bundle of enthusiasm that pushed him to make his “El Mariachi”, the famous “shot for $7,000 film” that went on to make millions and made Rodriguez a hero to garage filmmakers everywhere. Unfortunately for Rodriguez, he fails to realize that he’s no longer a garage filmmaker, and when he goes on websites and announces that he’ll make this movie and that, people tend to, you know, believe him.

Itching for some “Predators” action about now? You’re in luck, because the sneak peek trailer that we’ve been promised has been posted over at the film’s official site, complete with an introduction by the film’s producer, Robert Rodriguez. Personally I would have liked to just see the trailer without the blabbing, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers. Check it out below.
