If you were watching the Superbowl over the weekend, then you might have seen the latest trailer for Pixar’s sure-to-be newest hit, “Wall-E”. It’s the story of a robot who — well, see the trailer for yourself below. Like all Pixar animated movies, kids will love the crap out of this, and adults will get something out of it, too. But really, it’s all for the kids, right?

The Knight Rider backdoor pilot (set to premiere in less than two weeks on NBC) originally had Will Arnett as the voice of supercar KITT — that is, until car company GM found out that KITT was a Ford Mustang, and asked Arnett to pulled out. Being that voicing GM commercials is more lucrative than voicing a pilot for a possible TV show (I’m guessing, of course), Arnett agreed. Enter Val Kilmer, the new voice of KITT.

When you think sci-fi, you normally don’t think “Russians”. There are exceptions — “Solaris” being one. But other than that, I can’t really think of any Russian sci-fi that has broken through onto the International stage. Well that might just change with “Inhabited Island”, a movie based on the 1971 novel by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, and a film that is rumored to be the most expensive Russian film ever made, already scraping the $40 million dollar mark. Some believe it will surpass that by the time it is finally finished.

The Sci Fi Channel announced today that Season 5 of Stargate: Atlantis will begin later this month with a 20-episode order. There are also news of returning and leaving castmembers. Of note is Amanda Tapping, who will be doing “guest star” work while Sci Fi revs up production on her new series, Sanctuary. Paul McGillion, meanwhile, will return for a multi-episode arc, and Robert Picardo’s Woosley character has been given an upgrade in status — he’ll be joining the cast as a regular, and his character will assume command of the Atlantis expedition. And oh yeah, Michael Shanks will also be making appearances.

I am definitely marking this one with a big ol SPOILER tag, because it is very spoilerish — as in, it tells you pretty much everything that happens in the pilot episode of J.J. Abrams’ upcoming sci-fi TV show Fringe. Yes, I do mean everything, so if you don’t want to know how the pilot episode begins and ends, I suggest you don’t read on. You still reading? Okay, continue, then…

At first glance, the new comic “The Dark 48″ looks like a mish-mash of Danny Boyle’s “28 Days Later” (they’re not really zombies, more like humans infected with a “rage” virus) and your standard zombie movie, with a group of survivors battling a zombie horde infestation. The comic book premieres as a two-issue limited series by writer Steven O’Connell and artist Daniel Indro, and colors by Joel Seguin.

To absolutely no one’s surprise, the return of Lost to the line-up in a season plagued by the writer’s strike and way too many reality TV shows netted ABC a major victory. The network scored a whopping 16.1 million, 6.7 rating/17 share in adults 18-49 in the Nielsen, up from last year’s Season 3 finale (13.7 million, 5.8/15).

J.J. Abrams has a habit of making stars out of unknown actresses: Jennifer Garner in Alias, Evangeline Lilly in Lost, Keri Russell in Felicity, and now … Anna Torv in Fringe? Maybe, since the Australian actress has been tapped by Abrams to play the female lead in his upcoming FOX sci-fi show Fringe. Also joining Torv on Fringe are Blair Brown and Jasika Nicole.

Forget about the alien invasion of planet Earth — what happens when the aliens leave planet Earth after a long and grueling 10-year war with humanity? Why did they go? Where? And who won, exactly?
