For a while there, it didn’t look as if “Gattaca’s” Andrew Niccol would have the time to direct (he had already turned in a script for) “The Host”, the post-apocalyptic sci-fi movie based on the bestselling book by “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer. Now it’s official: he will direct the film from his own script.
“Hanna’s” Saoirse Ronan will star as the main character, Melanie Stryder, a human who gets merged with an alien soul in order for the aliens, who have invaded Earth a long time ago, to root out the remaining human populace. It also looks like they’re eyeing a 2012 release date.
