I for one accept and also expect my mind (or what remains) to be blown by AMC’s retelling of the 1967 Sci-Fi masterpiece “The Prisoner”. For those unfamiliar with the basics, let me help.
A man, who is given the name Six (Caviezel), awakens to a life in an idyllic town overseen by a man named Two, played by the stellar Ian McKellen. To those that live within the town, there is nothing beyond and their entire reality is the life they lead there. Six however, is different. He dreams of a life before the town, before he was Six. He dreams he had another name and lived in a place with giant glass towers and massive statues. A place called New York.
Six really wants to leave. But is there anywhere to go? See my earlier post with the series extended trailer. It is very good.
Scifiwire has an interview with the serious Mr. Caviezel. He talks about playing opposite the tricky Ian McKellen and also about what it can cost a good actor that really wants to bring the drama.
A quote.
“You know, my wife would come in the room, and she would sit there and she would watch me do my dialogue in my sleep,” Caviezel said in a group interview Tuesday in Pasadena, Calif., part of the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour. “My leg would be twitching, and I would think I was running through the desert.”
Brilliant! I love people who aren’t afraid to really feel it. The Prisoner hits AMC in Nov.
