Allison Miller is the second actor to join the Steven Spielberg time-traveling/prehistoric-set TV show “Terra Nova”. She will join the previously cast Jason O’Mara, who will be playing the show’s lead.
The project, from producers Steven Spielberg and Peter Chernin, follows an ordinary family from 2149 led by Jim Shannon (O’Mara) who are transported back 85 million years to prehistoric Earth where they join Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilization. Miller will play Skye, one of the people living in Terra Nova who takes Shannon’s son under her wing and inadvertently lands him in a perilous situation where her survival skills come into play.
The Fox show is expected to premiere sometime in the Fall of 2011, though honestly, it’ll have to do gangbuster numbers right out of the gates given the show’s potentially very expensive production-per-episode cost. We are talking about time travel and dinosaurs here, after all.
The young Allison Miller is already a TV vet, and have feature film credits including the live-action adaptation of “Blood: The Last Vampire” and the Zac Efron movie “17 Again”.
