Rafe, i believe your and njguy99’s ideas would work fantsically in the film (if they make it so) and i would like to add another idea for how the SJ got on Hadley's Hope/ LV-426: Have the SJ as a convict to his species (for unknown reasons) and have him sentenced to death-by-impregnation and his ship full of xeno eggs sent out on a final suicide mission: using the xenomorph eggs as 'bombs' to send to the predator's homeworld, then the facehuggers would hopefully impregnate some unlucky predators and breed predaliens (at least 1 of them would be a queen) and then commence with the destruction of the predators. As we all know, he didnt accomplish mission, and used the signal as either a warning of the xenomorh presence or a trap to draw unsuspecting victims to their deaths...

all these ideas sound good, but the one thing that annoys me the most about all these crossovers and writers etc. is that they have a wealth of inspiration that they can tap into but none of them actually use it.

im talking yes, about the comic book adaptions.

if you wanted to integrate humans into the equasion without taking too much away from either franchise then i dont understand why no one considering penning avp: war (or its prequels) for a movie. that story alone would have given the predators a vast background for people to tap into.

they are even planning a predator reboot, which to me is a little senseless even though i want nothing more than some predator action. what they could have done as a sequel of sorts (and actually include arnold for a cameo *with purpose*) is pen Concrete Jungle, the story that involves Dutch's brother being hunted and tormented by another of the predators clansmen who has seen the history between the other fallen warrior and dutch.

as for avp cross overs they really should look towards the original comic book crossovers, i would rather have had one of those than avp-r anyday. christ they could even have done lengthy version of the console adapted story of concrete jungle (ps2/xbox) - i've played through that story more than once and even to me that had solid ideas which could be turned into a movie.

flips sake, they have the nerve to throw money at game-to-movie adaptions and not care about messing them up (look at max payne for one, crime of the century imo) why not throw some money at solidify the meaning of the word classic in this new age of film ?

The Space Jockey's in the alien fils are pretty damn cool to me but anyhow. I think it would be wise to put them in the next movie it's been long enough for that mysterious race of aliens. By the way they are connected to the Predator franchise by the Alien franchise which they made AVP in the late '80s. In other words space jockey find alien, alien kills them, and about eight years later they put predator versus the alien franchise.

Well..to be honest, I must say the AVP-series has lost a lot of the tension that was clearly there in the Alien ánd Predator movies.
But aside from the deminishing horror-aspect it now fills up nicely with a more combat-aspect.
I wouldn't neccecarily put Ripley in the movies. (Segourney Weaver isn't exactly on the right age anymore to do this kind of movies and if you bring Ripley in, everyone will want her)
There were good parts in it, but has anyone ever looked at the space-jockey from the first Alien-movie? how on earth do you want to make that move and act in a believable way, and do they speak english or something? How do those things commune with humans to begin with?
The Idea is good, but there are too many problems.
My suggestion is tie the stuff up, but leave out the space-jockeys. (I'm so gonna get scolded for saying that) They don't seem right in the series. It'd be like trying to mix the predators in The Old Republic from star wars.
Have the now fused Wayland-Yutani company go in an all out war against the Predators. Have a new main-character go at war with the aliens, and (my personal favourite) End the Movie with the Space-jockey-queen-chestburster.
I always also liked the Idea of opening the movie with a human craft, with no bodies, but smeared all over with blood. Basically empty intact and covered in blood.

Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed all of the Alien films, including both AVPs. But, I do have to agree with the general concensus that AVP has really taken away from the Alien saga, making it more about Predators and humans. But, I also liked the beginning connections of the shadowy company, later known as Weyland-Yutani (The Company from the first three Alien films).

When I saw Resurrection, I was a bit disappointed that the aliens got a much lesser role than any other Alien-related film. But, when the Auriga crashed on Earth, I did ponder whether it might be possible for an Aliens: Earth War type follow-up. Afterall, if the facehuggers were able to survive and escape from the Predator ship in Requiem, why not a few surviving Xenomorphs from the destroyed Auriga?

Okay, I know, I know, when the Auriga crashed, its destruction wasted almost a complete hemisphere of Earth. But, even roaches can survive a nuclear blast. So, why not?

Lastly, let me say that njguy99, who wrote out his/her plot outline proposal for AVP3, it really sounds like a good idea. For the simple fact, we have already seen the pre-connections of Weyland-Yutani with both AVP and AVP-R. But, to bring in the Space Jockeys, now that would be great, since they play an intrical part of the Aliens comics. But, I am not really sure I agree with continuing after Resurrection, because the United Systems Military seemed more of a bad joke compared to Weyland-Yutani. If anything, I would not mind a direct prequel to the first Alien, which ties all the films, thus far, together. And, if they want to create AVP4, which takes place after Resurrection, I say go for it. It would definitely be a great way to tie things up and make it all full circle.

I guess what I am trying to say is, AVP3 should have the Space Jockeys in it. And, assuming that it is a direct connection to Alien, then we will not only learn of where the SJs came from, but also their full connection to the Xenomorph. And, while the SJs are duking it out with the Preds and manipulating the humans of Weyland-Yutani, the film could end or near end with the crashing of the derelict on what would be later known as LV-426.

To be fair though to njguy99's idea, like I said, I like it. And, it certainly would be a great ending that would wrap up the Alien universe altogether, since we pretty much know that- from books and comics- the Xenomorph are all but extinct anyway. So, let's use your idea, njguy99, for AVP4. What do you say?

I hope it's better than the second one. All of us were just waiting for it to get good but it never did. Have you ever heard a theater-full of people literally boo when a movie ended? That was my first. I'm not chancing it on the third one, I'll wait to rent it on DVD that way if it sucks too I can just turn it off and pop in something else. Please don't screw it up again Hollywood.

A script suggestion for AvP 3.... Tie all predator/alien movies together. Set the movie in the future, after Alien Resurection. Bring Ripley into the film along with the surviving characters from alien 4. Ripley now having a unique perspective, and a partial merging of alien gene memory, has insight as to the location of the alien homeworld. this will cause her to set out on her goal of exterminating the species once and for all.
Part of the story should flash back to the crashing of the space jockey ship with eggs on LV-426 (perhaps a consequence of a war with the predators). The Predator and Space Jockey's are at war over control over the alien homeworld territory. The Jockey's want it quarantined the Predators want specimans so they can hunt. Their war with each other has caused them to turn a blind eye to what's been going on earth for centuries. During that time earth has become a equal in travel among the stars. As for Ripley and friends, they eventually embark on a misson to eradicate the alien homeworld. During their journey they are secretly followed by the military whose intrest lies in "bringing back a speciman"! Unfortunately on their arrival to the alien homeworld they discover that the territory is already in dispute between the two other space faring races. After crashing on the surface of the planet (result of a space battle between the advanced races), a struggle to survive ensues. In the end their mission fails, but an alliance with the space jockeys is formed. Ripley and the survivors are taken to the space jockys world where whats left of that races culture evaluates the intentions of the humans. The USM or miltary foolishly takes a speciman back to earth which eventually leads to the second movie "Earth Hive". The predators role as always is they are out for bloodlust, the thrill of the hunt etc. There world and culture is stronger than the other two, but they are running out of challenging prey to hunt. Their culture is centered around this, and their elders are threatend by the prospect of their younger generation becoming somthing other than warrior hunters. A seed of disension is in their roots, and the predator elders seek to keep the alien's to hunt as a tool of preserving their ancient culture.
Earth hive would entail the Space Jockeys advanced knowledge being shared with humans, (their study of alien physiology revealed a weakness that eventually will lead to their ability to extinguish them). Ripley essentially becomes an emmisary for earth, and with the help of the space jocky utilizes a new bio weapon that eradicates the earth hive with ease. The Predators not wanting the new weapon to be used are working against the two other races, and in the meantime having a good time killing.
Part 3 could be the final extinction of the Alien species. After the catastrophe at earth, the ragged military thats left teams with the space jockeys to break the blockade that the predators have put up protecting the alien homeworld. After a hell of a space battle the now proven bioweapon is deployed on the surface below by Ripley.
Ultimately if this is written right, and proper flashbacks are used this could become one hell of a triology itself. The stage has been set with all the previous movies. Please someone, feel free to use this idea's in AVP3!

A script suggestion for AvP 3….
The Predator and Space Jockey’s are at war over control over the alien homeworld territory. The Jockey’s want it quarantined the Predators want specimans so they can hunt. Their war with each other has caused them to turn a blind eye to what’s been going on earth for centuries. During that time earth has become a equal in travel among the stars. As for Ripley and friends, they eventually embark on a misson to eradicate the alien homeworld. During their journey they are secretly followed by the military whose intrest lies in “bringing back a speciman”!
