Alice seems to be a hot girl these days. We’re awaiting Tim Burton’s “Alice In Wonderland”, which from early looks appears dependably Tim trippy. Johnny Depp plays the Mad Hatter in this film version so I won’t be missing it.
But now we also have a television re-imagining courtesy of the SyFy network. The television version looks pretty Sci-Fi. It has a fantastic cast with Kathy Bates, Harry Dean Stanton, Colm Meaney, Andrew Lee Potts, Caterina Scorsone and Matt Frewer! Man I love Matt Frewer. Alice gets sucked back into Wonderland and this time Wonderland appears to be a modern police state instead of the previous mediveal mess. The new version has a kind of Prisoner vibe to it or at least that is what the below video preview feels like to me. Io9 has seen the rough edit and they are digging it. It airs this weekend.
