I think it is one of the worst science fiction movies I've ever seen! I must admit the entertainment value was good, but not in the way it probably was intended. I have laughed my XXX off because of all the bad science in this movie. A brown drarf hits the moon causing it to have twice the mass Earth has?!? First of all, that would vapourize the moon and secondly, it would cause the Earth to revolve around the moon instead of the other way around. You see a big container ship being lifted up out of the water by the strong gravitational forces, but the water itself is not effected? Why doesthe garvitational pull of the moon not caus any volcanic eruptions or supertidal waves? When the moon was born, it was as close as that to earth and then it would cause tidalwaves miles high. And the way the moon was put back into orbit, was the biggest laugh, not even remotely in a remote way remotely believable. Once in a while you'll end up watching an entire movie, just because it is so bad! Well this is one of those. :)

I think the movie was good for entertainment value. Although it did rip off a bit of Armageddon in the second episode I still believe it to be something that could have had way more potential if the producers had more money. (And better screen play, writers, etc.) The acting was somewhat okay. I've seen a few RedBox movies in my time and I would certainly pick this over any of them. I'm a big astronomy guy and always look to those anomalies that 'could' happen or 'would' if something else happened. RedBox had a few movies that when I watched them I nearly called them up for a refund. I was pleased for the entertainment of this movie. :)

cheesy quote from "Dracula" 1933: "...[that which] was considered the myth and superstition of yesterday may [be] the scientific reality of today..."<br><br>Now, just because it was in a ocudrama doesnt mean it was real, but, if something like that happens, well, it was nice knowing you all. The aliens would be laughing...

This movie could easily be turned into a decent B movie. It is bad enough to qualify, just need to add the sex scenes. The cast is already in place, just do a few rewrites and your good-to-go.........

TOTALLY RIDICULOUS , A FARCE ! I thought Id never see anything as unrealistic as Armageddon again , ( the good old Bruce Willis one ) - but this crap is worse.. It starts out half believable - but the last episode I just browsed through .. NRK has it on the webtv if any other Norwegians want to see it. Btw last episode is very rip-off-Armageddon-like..

It's just a movie. Does it have to be accurate. There are no vampires but there are plenty of films about them.

do you have any idea of the amount of energy needed to shift the orbital plane of something the mass of the moon? Even 1/10,000th of a degree?

The computations I have seen show that any impact sufficient to shift the orbital plane will shatter the Moon into a gazillion pieces. Remember that the Earth also revolves around the Moon - the center of mass of the dual system inside the Earth for certain, but viewed from afar the system does a do-si-do around the center of mass - the moon does not truly revolve around the Earth.

That all being said, if there was a wayward moon out there that could make a close approach the gravitational disturbance could easily change the plane of the orbit much easier an impact. The effects on Earth [tides, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes] from a close approach of such a large object would be much more intense than a lunar impact.

If something the mass of a brown dwarf entered the solar system and came close to the Earth - Moon system the destruction to both components of that system would be significant. This is a seriously bad movie and seriously bad science - it just makes the idiot writers look like real idiots. . .
