A Pair of Trailers for Resident Evil: Retribution

With so many “dead” characters returning sequel after sequel, I think it’s safe to say that the “Resident Evil” franchise stopped being horror and is now basically an action/sci-fi franchise, right? There are clonings galore in this thing, so much so that you aren’t sure who is really alive or who is in a virtual reality or some such hijinks. The series has sure become more sci-fi than horror, that’s for sure.
Here’s what “Resident Evil: Retribution”, the fifth movie (yes, this is the fifth installment) is all about:
The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.
Milla Jovovich returns once again, along with Kevin Durand, Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Oded Fehr, Johann Urb, Bingbing Li, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, and Colin Salmon. Paul W.S. Anderson, who helmed the first one, returns to direct the fourth entry.
