Sci-Fi Tech, Star Trek 11 (2009) Movie, Star Trek Universe — By endymi0n on May 11, 2009While staring blissfully with my mouth open like a slack jawed yokel during my IMAX viewing of “Star Trek” last Thursday, I paused from time to time to sport a Spock like eyebrow lift at some of the, let’s say “fascinating”, science on display in the movie.
There were a few lip pursing moments. I might have rubbed my beard and looked around at the other nerds in the audience (they were all nerds) in the hopes of catching someones eye to wordlessly beam a look of intellectual superiority.
Can a supernova threaten an entire Galaxy? Umm, no.
Will the vacuum of space make your blood boil? Bad science makes my blood boil!
The very cool Bad Astronomy blog has an in depth and detailed account of what was good and what was bad science for all you propellerheads out there. You know who you are. Thanks Gizmodo.
