this is true but this movie can't have no meaning due to the fact that they make it really obvious that it is about what humans have done wrong. Now i can't make you say your wrong cuz it is ur opinion but this can be a metaphore on the things we as human beings have done wrong. Think about this...are there any great disasters that are related like this?? not including the giant robots destroying stuff. I am talking about how technology can currupt us.

They really just want to tell you not to waste the gift of technology for greed. It has a link to pollution due to the fact that it shows how we always want the latest of technology, we always say we should recycle but recycling means remaking out of things that don't work or is unusable anymore. What we as humans are doing is just recycling when we buy a newer versions of a product. People are trying to make new things for money. We should be slowing down development as a world in order for people to waste fewer things. We should teach each other to throw away things when absolutely necessary. That world they are describing is the fast growth of technology and the greed of people. They used machines to help them win a war yet the machine itself was flawed. The scientist gives life to these dolls as a way of undoing the mistakes humanity has made. When they cause rain, this is a vital sign of life starting to remake. When 9 says "It's our world and it's what we make of it." He is saying it depends on the choices they make. This is relating to global warming and other mistakes we humans have made. Global warming started by people rushing to make new things like the aerosol cans that have chemicals that break the spheres of earth during the 70s. During the scene of 9 and 5 making a torch (old light bulb with stick), it explains how we can use old worn out items that still work.
This is what i think but i'm not sure if it is correct cuz i'm 14

According to this article there are 9 soul types....this is just one example
http://www.newequations.com/nineparts.html

Four soul families are dedicated to relationship:
Soultype 1 - Relationship with Source. (#1 in the movie is father figure wanted to stay safe where he is...perceived as cowardly)
Soultype 2 - Relationship with other people. (#2 finds #9 and brings him to the others)
Soultype 3 - Relationship with the soul. (#3 and #4 the twins are the record keepers)
Soultype 4 - Relationship with one's self. (one can agrue that the soul and ones self are the same)

Five soul families are dedicated to the following creative principles:
Soultype 5 - Creates humanity’s relationship to the heavens. (#5 is the most even tempered of the group and gives us the impression of having inner peace. At the end he lingers and puts his hand on 9's shoulder as if being touched by god)
Soultype 6 - Creates the path for the expression of the soul. (#6 is the artist...drawing pictures)
Soultype 7 - Creates an effortless and fun death of what has become obsolete. (#7.. The consumate and effortless warrior)
Soultype 8 - Creates humanity’s relationship to the body through a connecton to the earth. (#8..remember the scene with 8 and the magnet on his head. creating that connection to his body through the magnet)
Soultype 9 - Creates an harmonious existence. (#9 brings this all together)

The fact that 3,4,7,9 still exist can mean 1 of two things.
1) they will eventually die and their soul be collected with the others
2) they are not needed. there are several cultures (egyptians to name one) who believed that there were 5 parts fo the soul. look who is left. 3 - connection to the soul, 4 - connection to one's self. those parts are only present if there is a body (perhaps why they didnt have a voice). 7 is a warrior, well they are trying to not repeat past mistakes, maybe they will be better off without 7 in a post war environment. 9 - he just brought them all together i.e. the messiah.

Watch the movie again. I agree there are holes, but not as many as you think.

9 is the Messiah. the maker is God. Some of the other rag dolls are the pharases who persecute the Messiah and some become the deciples of 9. The machines are Technology gone wild in our current time. 9 is a mystical number-that's it. The rag dolls that are lost inside the machine are redeemed by 9 when he uses the source artifact to release them. This is a story about redemption, self-sacrifice, the struggle of life in the face of run away technology, a warning that we are losing our humanity, and much more.

Superficially, the scientist could have just made 9 ragdolls because his soul consists of 9 parts. Or if you look into it, according to the Vedic Scriptures, 9 represents the "whole of existence"; or according to the Bible, it it the "product of divine completeness"; or it is the finality of judgment aka "death", which would explain why the scientist died after giving life to 9. But what I'm wondering is, why did the scientist originally design 9 to not have a voice? because if you recall, it was 2 who installed the voicebox in 9. Also, was the talisman only meant to be protected by the ragdolls? or was there something more to that?

Also, was the talisman only meant to be protected by the ragdolls? or was there something more to that?

Superficially, the scientist could have just made 9 ragdolls because his soul consists of 9 parts. Or if you look into it, according to the Vedic Scriptures, 9 represents the “whole of existence”; or according to the Bible, it it the “product of divine completeness”; or it is the finality of judgment aka “death”, which would explain why the scientist died after giving life to 9. But what I’m wondering is, why did the scientist originally design 9 to not have a voice? because if you recall, it was 2 who installed the voicebox in 9. Also, was the talisman only meant to be protected by the ragdolls? or was there something more to that?
