J.J Abrams, director of the little film they are calling “Star Trek”, opening next week at an Imax near you, gives us a little glimpse of what will be coming when “Star Trek” finally makes it to Dvd (ick) and Blu-Ray (w00t). We can expect about 5-10 minutes of deleted scenes, most notably featuring Nero, our favorite Romulan crazoid, in a Klingon prison. Thanks Collider.

J. J Abrams On The Dvd and Blu-Ray Versions Of Star Trek
Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen Trailer 3
Here is a pretty good, lets call it early look, at the “Transformer 2: Revenge of the Fallen” trailer. It’s got me hankering for some ballistic robot on robot action. We also get to see Megan Fox, a woman who is clearly highly evolved, in short shorts sort of angled over a motorcycle.
Spock And Uhura: Together At Last?
I’ve been following the Trek news in a very close way. I’m as die hard a Trekkie as you can get while still holding on to my dignity. I have been to conventions. No, I did not wear Spock ears although I could have rocked them. I do know some Klingon, but only the stuff you want to say to female Klingons or to any recently vanquished foes, their twisted bodies lying broken and bloody at my feet.
Terminator: Salvation Model T600′s Don’t Need To Be Pretty To Kill You
The T600′s in Terminator: Salvation are obviously an older model human hunter created before the whole human skin cover-up to fool your potential victims thing was fully ah, fleshed out. These badboys, from the Sarah Connor Society, come in two flavours. We have the aforementioned Jason looking guys, ready to surprise your fellow humans at their next wedding or barbecue and we have the full metal versions, apparently still under construction, getting misc metal unpleasantness welded to them in preparation for crashing your happy place.
Teaser Poster for Bruce Willis’ Surrogates
A spiffy new (and I have to say, very Battlestar Galactica-esque) poster for Bruce Willis’ sci-fi actioner “Surrogates”. There’s also an equally spiffy viral site for the film via Virtual Self Industries. Looking at the faux site, it reminds me that movie studios just have way too much money on their hands that they can throw up these kinds of flashy and expensive “most people won’t even know it exists” sites and not think twice about it. And people wonder why Hollywood movies cost millions to make. But I digress.
Three New Terminator Salvation TV Spots
Three new very brief but very revealing TV spots for McG’s upcoming “Terminator Salvation”, the fourth installment in the Skynet saga that began with James Cameron’s “Terminator” from 1984. Who knew that movie would spawn a successful movie franchise, TV show, and comic books? Okay, maybe not so much a successful TV show, but it did last for two years, and that’s kinda successful. Anyways, three new TV spots for “Terminator Salvation” featuring John Connor trying to raise the resistance below.
Four More Star Trek Clips
Four new clips from J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek”. You know, the more I see of this movie, the more I’m really excited for it, and I’ve never exactly been all that excited for anything Trek. Four very cool clips, the first one has Bruce Greenwood’s Captain Pike convincing a beat-up Chris Pine (the aftermath of the bar fight over Uhura as seen in previous clips), the second is Kirk and Sulu getting ready for a space jump onto a Romulan vessel (Sulu informs Kirk of his fencing prowess), in the third clip, Romulan Captain Nero makes his appearance and (literally) drives his point home, and the fourth clip features that bar scene between Kirk and a Uhura which leads to the bar fight.
Is There A Ridley Scott “Alien” Reboot On The Way?
Fox Co-chairman Tom Rothman talked with IESB at the “Wolverine” premiere in Tempe, Arizona and hinted that something may be in the works to return “Alien” back to it’s creator Ridley Scott and get the series back on track.
Leonard Nimoy Hints Of More Fringe Episodes
Leonard Nimoy is about to appear as the maybe evil, maybe not, super sciencey William Bell on “Fringe”. Leonard is hinting that if it all goes well he may appear on more than the three episodes that have been announced.

New Behind-the-Scenes Pics from Avatar
If you call yourself a sci-fi fan and you don’t have any interest in James Cameron’s “Avatar”, then you need to stop watching sci-fi and go back to watching Cameron Diaz romantic comedies, cause you obviously suck. Here are new behind-the-scenes pics from James Cameron’s “Avatar” from the most recent issue of UK publication Empire. These images were scanned by someone who sent it in to MarketSaw, a blog for 3D movies. Check them out below, check them outers.
Cronenberg’s Videodrome Set for Remake
Torture on TV isn’t a novel idea. Have you seen Dancing with the Stars or MTV’s glutton of “makes me want to stab out my eyes and end it all right here and now” so-called “Reality” TV shows? But of course, those types of torture have nothing on David Cronenberg’s 1983 movie “Videodrome”, which originally starred James Woods as a TV producer who puts actual torture on TV in order to reverse sagging ratings. You know, sort of like how MTV put those Reality TV shows on instead of actually playing music. But I digress.
Mutant Chronicles (2008) Movie Review
Produced in 2008 on what looks to be a rather sizeable budget (or at the very least, something out of the reach of your standard Sci Fi Channel Original Movie, which ironically is where the movie will probably end up after some extensive cuts), “Mutant Chronicles” by Simon Hunter (“Lighthouse”) spent most of its first year on the shelf as the studio tried to figure out what to do with it. The film was released in Europe and Video-on-Demand before finally making its Stateside theatrical bow last week, and is not expected to do very much at the box office. TV advertisement for the film is nil, and what’s more, Internet advertisement (usually the way to go with these types of genre movies) is nearly non-existent, especially for what is potentially such a geek-friendly movie. To be sure, the studio’s apprehension is understandable, as the film is not everyone’s cup of tea, and will probably turn off more viewers than it converts. But for the converted (you will either fall into this category or be turned off before the first 10 minutes are up), “Mutant Chronicles” is a damn satisfying sci-fi action movie that hits all the right notes.
Vanishing On 7th Street Is Creative And Spooky
John Leguizamo and Thandie Newton have been confirmed as cast mates in the spooky our world comes to a shrieking halt movie “Vanishing On 7Th Street”. Here’s the official concept.
Following a mysterious blackout, most of the population vanishes into thin air. As the remaining survivors converge in a small tavern to figure out what happened, the darkness returns to claim them one by one.
Entertainment Tonights Big Huge Trek Video
Because we have posted just about every other Trek preview and video known to exist of any consequence, I have for you, dear reader, a nice big spoilerific behind the scenes Trek video extravaganza courtesy of Entertainment Tonight. It has two minutes of footage plus interviews. Just be really careful. I imagine if you snip together all the videos released you could probably just about get to see all the good stuff in the movie. Thanks Trekmovie.
